4th week flowering, everything look O.K.?

Hey guys,

This is my first post, and my first grow as well. I believe I am in either my 4th or 5th week of flowering, and was just wondering if everything looks in order. Any inputs and/or criticisms are appreciated:

:leaf:
Seed Source: BAG SEED
Strain: ?
Indoor/Outdoor: ? (Both plants vegged outdoors, and I moved them indoors for flowering)
Soil: Compost from my garden mixed with Miracle Grow potting mix
pH: 6.5
Ferts: Used Miracle Grow tomato food during veg, none during flowering...only some gardening lime to raise my pH two weeks ago

Lights: (1) Sun System 150 watt HPS grow light (that I will be upgrading my next grow...gonna get a 400 watt switchable MH/HPS with ballast not integrated to light fixture. The Sun System has the ballast built into the fixture, causing a lot of excess heat:wall:) (2) 23 watt warm cfl's (both rated at 2700k), and (1) 23 watt cool blue cfl (rated at 5600k).
Light Schedule: 12/12

(IS HARVEST TIME CLOSE ???)

Grow space: Closet, walls painted flat white.
Dimensions: 2' x 3' x 7'
Ventilation: Door open, oscillating fan. (Cannot cut holes for exhaust, I am renting from my grandparents.)
Temp: 65-70*F (with door open, with door closed temps reach up to 80*F)
Humidity: 43-50 %

The plants had a pretty bad bug infestation during vegging outside, which I terminated using a mixture of soapy water and tobacco filters diluted in distilled water. It took care of the bugs, and it started flowering about two weeks later, so I figured it would be alright. Like I said earlier, this is my first grow, so I just winged it. I learned A LOT from this grow, and am pretty sure I made every noob mistake there is. The reason I joined this forum, is because I am hooked. I want to learn more. I need to learn more. I plan only growing for personal use (3-4 plants at most at one time), and would like to keep it indoors. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, as I just found 5 seeds mixed in the shake of a bag of heady nugs, and plan on growing them (hopefully get better results this time around). Thanks!

lookin pretty good for bagseed. consider ordering a few fem seeds of some real good genetics if your going to take the risk you should grow the best IMO.

You have a good point.

But, I kinda see where he's coming from. I was in the same position whenever I first started growing my own buds. I didn't have the money to get seeds right away.. I just had to try and grow the ones I got from smoke off the street.

But again, it is a good idea to get your hands on some really good genetics. It's worth the money for the seeds.. especially if you know what your looking for and wanting. One strain I would recommend for beginners, is Nirvana's feminized AK48. There's a few different phenotypes.. but every single of them produces nice; full; heavy and dense buds.. no matter the phenotype you get. It's also a very stable strain, yet very forgiving on mistakes. It's an easy grower IMO.

anyhow.. good luck.

peace.

Great advice man. I actually have researched the AK48 and the LoRyder as well. At first I was a bit skeptical, but the idea of growing a small plant with potential for big yields intrigues me. Plus seed to harvest is 2 months which is perfect for my situation. I plan on purchasing a few in the near future. They are however pretty expensive, and shipping is steep too. I live in a country that frown upon getting seeds shipped to you so I'm afraid they'll get confiscated at customs. But hey, what's the worse that could happen? They take em', and I'm out a few bucks.

I'm in the US and 3/3 on orders making it. Maybe they have laxed due to all the medical states, not sure... But attitude always offers guaranteed shipping, so if you're ordering $100 or more it's def worth the extra 8-10 bucks. If anything goes wrong they will reship no cost to you.

I decided to go with nirvana and ordered 5 feminized AK-48's. Seems like a good starting point for me, and the buds look nice and dense. Any preference on soil? FoxFarms O.F. costs 50 bucks to ship to me, a little steep right now. I have a bag of M.G. Organic. Would this be OK for germ...seedling....veg?

U could check out other stuff like pro-mix or roots organics at gardening stores. as far as I know mg is pretty cheap stuff, but i've seen some people make it work somehow.

like the recomendation, i did 1bagseed and joey weed's ak47 for my first try run, they were either reallly forgiving, or i got really lucky cuz everything went phenomenally. i now know both were true :)

you're setup reminds me alot of what i first tried to make work for me...my advice: start figuring out what space you're gonna wanna take over next lol

and definitely save up your money and spend it on quality components which includes your soil

don't ship your soil if you don't have to..shipping prob costs just as much as the bag

and some may disagree but jorge cervantes books taught me everything i needed to know in the beginning and have never had anything but dank to show for it
