how does my seedling look for 4 days? *pics*

It broke ground on the 16th, so it's only 4 days old. It stretched on the 17th and 18th (because it had insufficient light).. but I buried it up to the first node and it now has 2 42W CFL's...

the wattage of lights isnt what made it stretch. its the distance from the plants that matters, how far away are u keeping em from the plant?

good, thats about right. another question, does that bowl your keeping it in have drainage holes?do you have a fan blowing on the cfls? it will toast your seedling if ya let em get too hot this early.

Yeah, it has drainage holes and it's sitting on a little plate to catch any of the water that leaks out.
Yes, I got a pretty nice sized fan going 24/7 in the room and it is aimed at the CFLs.

cn u rly grow with thos lights they dont look bright enuf wtf :S
Those lights are SUPER ass bright man, it looks so dim because I put the light filter on my camera because otherwise you couldn't see jack shit but the light.

edit: this is what it looks like without the light filter

The bulbs were about $10 bucks each...
Those lights should be sufficient enough for vegetative growth, but not for flowering growth because flowering growth needs a different light spectrum

good, sounds like ya got a pretty decent setup going. just keep addidng stuff when ya can. (like more lights for sure) dont let your plant sit in its drainage water on the plate. best of luck.

Thanks guys, this is my first grow so I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right.
I kind of fucked up by letting it stretch in its first two days, but it looks like it's recovering just fine.

Those two leaves growing in the middle are brand new, they didn't exist this morning.. (by the way, that's a RECENT picture about 30 minutes old)

You may want to consider placing the bulbs horizontally, with cfls you really want to have as much of the bulb as you can close to the plant, and more light is disperesed from the sides than the bottom. Looking great though

Ummm hi, my seedling looks the same except it has some holes on it, i cant tell if its either the springtails or the light,i dont have a fan, and i'm worried if my light is too strong, i use aluminum foil to concentrate the light at the seedling, and the aluminum foil is all around it.

you need to make some sort of reflector to direct the light down on the plant. If you have a light meter you would see that most of the light comes from the sides of the cfl bulbs, not the end. Mount them horizontally somehow and make a reflector.

a few y splitter with the way he's got em hanging now would be just about perfect, i dont know how i forgot to mention the bulbs should be horizontal before, Good advice.
