Nice growth for so few lights. I have vegged under CFLs but I'm all about overkill, so we're talking 7 65W jumbos (I think they are 200W equivalents, lol). Pretty inefficient, but I was learning :)




Have you figured out how to handle the heat when you fire up the HPS? Because it's hotter than the MH and you really don't want those high temps during flowering.

I live in the south and it was due to the temps since it's a garage room growth. Temps are dropping now and it's only gonna get colder, but not too cold. So, hopefully that will help to counter balance the heat. I have also hooked up a 6" inline fan since then that I will run when i start to flower with the HPS. Smell is pretty contained right now so I haven't bothered to run it and the carbon filter but I will once it gets more stinky.

What kind of ventilation do you currently have? It's vital for the plants to have a constant supply of fresh air, which contains CO2 that the plants convert to O2, when you're growing indoors.

I went ahead and bought a new MH bulb bcuz it seemed like the leaves were sagging and struggling for light. They perked up quite a bit and definitely needed more light. So now running 400w My bulb at 18 inches from top of plant and also send 18 inch fluorescent light. I turned on the 6th inch ventilation fan. Temps are a stable 72 degrees. ppm at 850. pH at 6.2 they seem to grow better at this phone than 5.8 dunno why though. Pic to come tomorrow.

So after running the MH bulb instead of the CFL's they are perking up and growing like crazy, definitely needed the extra light from a 400w MH bulb.
After running it for the past 48 hours, I think they grew too much without me moving the light up and some of the leaves are suffering from heat stress.. the last two pictures show the what I think is heat stress from being too close to the MH bulb. They top of the damages leaves were right at 18" from the bulb so I moved it up a couple inches. Does it look like heat stress to you?

My plants are starting to have alternating nodes but no preflowers yet. Should I already see preflowers or not? Approx 5 weeks old.

Quick question. I am finding what seems to be water on some of my leaves, almost like they are sweating. Is this normal or a sign of something that I need to change?

Just random pics, 5 1/2 weeks old. 1 is alternating nodes, another is just starting to pre-flower, patiently awaiting to see what they are!

lmao, yeah first grow and didn't want to spend shit loads on it if it didn't work. Guess i need to get some mylar? Lowes I'm assuming?

The water on your leaves is probably a sign that your humidity is pretty high and your plants are also taking up plenty of water and nutrients. I usually see that where two big fan leaves are in contact with each other. It can leave marks on your leaves, but it's harmless. Presumably your humidity will drop with cooler seasonal temps so it won't cause you a problem during budding.

Since you planned for failure and it doesn't look like that's going to happen, I think you should not worry about spending a little money to make it come out the best it can. Investment always pays back and it's looking good.

What this guy said .. You dont need to order mylar you can go to Lowes or home depot and get a roll of ReflectiX for about 40 bucks ( thats what I did ) . You get what you pay for too so if you spend a little dough chances are your plants will appreciate it and may give you bigger yields, better grow, less problems etc..

Fantastic. As always, I appreciate the guidance from the more experienced. I am 6 weeks in and due to stretching caused by the MH light, I went ahead and put them under the 400w HPS and flip to 12/12 schedule.
I've got alternating nodes so I suppose they are ready. I have topped 2, FIM 2, and left 3 alone. See how they all come out. No preflowers yet, or that I see. Hopefully they will show what's under their skirts soon!

Thats a good time to veg I let mine go for 9 weeks and damm they barely fit in the room...
