Light leaking.

Ok ya'll so this is my first grow-- have a 3 by 5 tent 600 watt MH, 1#206 CFM fan for heat suction and a ductbooster 168 cfm for air circulation keeping temps to a steady 74 to 79 degrees. My only problem is I have a light leak that just irritates the hell out of me!. the light leaks from the ductbooster fan from the bottom of the tent. What can I put there so that light doesn't escape? here's a pic so ya'll can get a better point of view. Also putting a vid I made.. so please don't make fun of my grow setup lol its my first one, I'll have something better and bigger on my second grow.:leaf:

Go buy an elbow pvc pipe or two and connect them together so it forms a 90 degree angle. Presto.

thanks Auzzie07...
elbo pvc pipe is not what am looking for.. ive tried it and my temps seem to go higher. is there any type of sheet of some type that I can just put on the duct booster that anyone can recomend me? that can still exhaust the air and not let any light out?

Light leaks are nothing to worry about if you have stable genetics.

I have an idea what your talking about. you want some type of nylon or cotton sheet right? those will just raise the heat stress (take it from experience) use a vent carton something like this: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xhc/R-100396926/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053
it wont completely keep the light trap but it's better than nothing.
hope that helps. And nice video your off to a good start.
Yes tommy thats what I was thinking of -- Nylon, I've been using my bra for the ductbooster and it seems its been traping in light. I've try'id using pvc to make an angle like Auzzie07 mention but my temps rise above 83, I tend to keep my temps as they are (74-79) Thanks for the link! I will be trying the vent cover see how it goes.

All plants can survive with light the equivalent of moon light without any negative affects but as I said doesn't matter the genetics..minus that part you post is correct minimal light leaks are nothing to worry about

No problem hope that solves it.
I saw your video and am suprise'd you are able to keep the tent below 80 degrees without a heat tube. I have a a 24x44x54 grow tent with a 400 watt metal halide & am barely able to keep the temperature below 90 degrees. Am running 2 exhaust fans for heat and 2 fan blowers for air circulation.

It has everything to do with genetics. I wont argue about this as i have read a post of "Fdd's" regarding this subject and i go with what he says and my own experience and he is never wrong so ask HIM.................

Really luda??????????:dunce: Let me ask you this. You just joined here today so before you go denying that you are ludacris, why don't you explain how someone who's been a member for mere hours can come on here, claim to be familiar with fdd and his thoughts on stable genetics and hermaphroditism, when this is the same b.s. ludacris and only ludacris argues? Can ya answer me any of that?;-)
