Light leaking.

Sup my first post...and helpping another.

Tommy hit it on the spot get a cardboard box big enough that temp does not rise, and make a cutting the size of your fan at the bottom. The box should take up all light seapage.

Might want to try a vent cover for a laundry/drying macine.

Well all in all... regardless of genetics this is a big light leak! I took some more pic's with out the flash and you can see how much light gets through.. like I said am not gonna use pvc elbows cus it will just make the temps higher. am gonna try the vent cover like tommy suggested and see from there. Am also gonna read up on this Fdd and see what he has to say.

Ok ya'll so this is my first grow-- have a 3 by 5 tent 600 watt MH, 1#206 CFM fan for heat suction and a ductbooster 168 cfm for air circulation keeping temps to a steady 74 to 79 degrees. My only problem is I have a light leak that just irritates the hell out of me!. the light leaks from the ductbooster fan from the bottom of the tent. What can I put there so that light doesn't escape? here's a pic so ya'll can get a better point of view. Also putting a vid I made.. so please don't make fun of my grow setup lol its my first one, I'll have something better and bigger on my second grow.

i had that exact same problem. all i did wad tear a tshirt into thin long shreds and tie them around the duct fan till its a lil thicker than the hole and jame it in there. peace.

LUDA whats up. Damn home boy gets butthurt.. Report me too. get a life homie. you join just to chime in some bullshit about genetics. True if you have stable genetics you shouldnt have to worry much about light leaks but if you cause too much stress on a plant ie. light leeks (which obviously messes up the plants sleep time) will result in a hermie. That is basic biology/DNA or whatever your claiming too. And FDD on the other hand is a monster when it comes to growing and he has a firm belief in strong genetics but also know if too much light is leeked on the girls during the dark period its not good for them. Other than that only way to fix that situation really is like some kind of nylone or scrren but thats going to restrict airflow. youre probably better off going with the elbows bro.

Actually that could work... I have a hole puncher that I can use with a swimsuit I can puncture. it should do the trick since the swimsuit is made of nylon... THANKS!

Good idea civil you can make almost anything work to fix light leaks I used blankets lol

build a box, that the light can go inti, and have a divider in the middle with a hole in it. make it basically like a muffler. the outside holes on the bottom of the box, and the divider hole that is in the box, on the top. the light will go into the first chamber, but most of it will get stopped my your divider. there will not be enough light, to go out the third hole but will still allow good airflow.
