For the record-
It is EASY to do and very affordable now. I have 5.5 Kw of power from my panel array and do not regret it one bit. If you run your lights during the day you do not even have to store via battery bank, which adds to the cost. You run your lights and cooling all day then just your pumps and fans at night, which don't cost as much to run anyways.
Check out dubya-dubya-dubya realgoodssolar dot comm and dubya-dubya-dubya sunrun dott com for perfect examples of just how easy and affordable this is. People who say it is too expensive are just plain ignorant and need to get educated NOW. You can have a sizable roof mount system installed on lease for example, for about 1 grand down. It all comes down to Fed energy tax rebates, local utility rebates and others. 1 grand is a drop in the bucket for a 30k plus solar grid.
