Is the 100w what the CFL actually uses or what its equivalent to? On the distance away from the plants I'd say 2in or so away from lights as long as they don't touch and get burned you could have slightly closer. You just have to keep an eye on it, and make sure your plant(s) don't grow into the lights.

When you add up the watts you always use the amount the bulb actually uses. With that said the rule of thumb is 60-80 watts per plant, CFL's don't have much light penetration so you need to keep the bulbs close to.

I personally have no knowledge of LED's, never used them or read much about them lol, so sorry not much help there.

But I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hurt.. lol

leds have been proven to work better for vegetative state both textbook and personal experience as well.
so skip the leds on flowering, id use some 23 ACTUAL WATTAGE cfls usually say comparable to 100 watt daylights for veg. Dont get 1 100 watter you need to create a special ballast and so on plus you can spread your "light spots" around node sites on the plant.
got any pics?

should i use my led panal aswell? dont think it will do it any harm
I have an LED panel. Haven't needed it yet, but once my plants are bigger I will hang it behind them, so there is extra light at the bottom, where sometimes CFLs don't penetrate. Figure it can't hurt, at worst, it'll do nothing!

hey mate thx for ya help umm it is a 20watt light eq too 100 watt its a cool daylight 6500k
one 20 watt bulb for that pic on the left? dont worry about what wattage they are equal too,in this case and growing wise you would go by the 20 and use that to add ur wattage up.
and no, thats not enough watts add about 3 more 20 watt daylight bulbs or maybe five
one on four corners and maybe 1 on top.

add light as you see fit,
remember you can never have too much light (unless u cant control temp between 70-85)
having not enough light is like eating a salad once a day and working out. Give that plant some more light
and throw in some fans for ventilation.

oh and

u dont need to take em inside to sex em bro.
