How long can or should a mixture of water and nutrients be stored? Can it go bad sitting around in a plastic jug at room temperature?

I preferably don't store nutes because of the sheer fact of bacteria and contaminants. Ask your self this
Would you mix a cup of kool aid and leave it in the cup in a room at room temp and Sri.k it 3 4 even 5 days later? Probably not. Go ahead and measure how much you useso you don't go waist all that expensive nutrients.
Hope this helps

Ok, thanks.

Is a PPM or EC tester a good purchase for a person who grows in soil? Or are those only necessary for hydro grows?

A ppm meter will test your water to see how hard it is coming from your faucet I grow in soil and I've made it with out these two devices but they are recommended

when mixing your nute ratio to water, should you check the ph and add ph up or down accordingly into the mixture before giving it to your plant?

its not a huge deal and i wouldnt bother adding ph up or down unless your far off.
you want around 6.5 give or take. so if you have a ph of like 6 your still fine. its only if your at like 7.5 or 4 or something really bad

put ph 7 water into your soil and test the run off to get the soil ph. adjust the ph of nutes then accordingly.

Question~ Super Lemon Haze attracts spider mites really fast, is there a house plant that will attract spider mites even faster?

Hey kb,

I'm going to be starting a grow with about two to three 1000 watt lamps (HPS) for about 20 + plants. I'm wondering how am I supposed to get the whole ventilation set up? I've grown before, but it was very ghetto-like, so I have no idea how the whole concept of in-line duct fans and tubes, etc. work.

Thanks

Make sure you correct the p.h I've seen terrible things happen to excellent crops for having a too strong alkalinic or acidic ph it can burn your plants cause a huge amount of.stress. stunt growth or even kill the plant if not corrected. If problems occur flush your plants with water for 4 to 7 days and you should be ok

Your vexation system should be connected online with your lights. You want your inline fans running from the end of the lights since you only have two. Then vent your lights out of the room tieing into, if your lucky theirs a a vent shoot. But if theirs not just get the heat out of the too and tie in a carbon filter to the vents

I'm not too advanced in what I know about household plants. But what attracts mites to marijuana like your super lemon haze is the sugar and high nutrient value of your plants. They feed on these and certain plants use nutes differently..

@ rhino1111
whatever you can do to get your ph from 6.3-6.8 around is fine.
find out also if your nutes are alkaline or acidic. if you can be SURE that the ph is at 7 constantly thats fine.
remember not to overdo it though. dont get too hung up about it. the best growers ive ever seen on this site dont ever even check their ph.....

Hey I've got a first grow question, I just added two 105w cfls (1 65k 1 27k) to LED ufo 90w set up and the addition spiked my temp (75 up to 85) a little bit but dropped by humidity from 65% to 35%...i'm only about 2 weeks away from 12/12 though so I was thinking about just turning off the 27k cfl and see if that helps...any thoughts? how critical is the humidity and how much margin of error do i have to work with?
Thanks to everyone here, i've been reading up and benefiting and hope now to give back to this great community

dont turn off the 2700k cfl, they're the good cfls for flowering. if anything turn off the 6500k. but your best to leave them all on for max light.
humidity at 35% is fine it would be good if you could get it up a bit for the most part of flowering, but keep it at around that for the end so as to prevent bud rot.
but a mix of leds and cfls sound good man should be a good grow.
any pics? cos id be interested to see :D

I hate pH. I don't want to have to test pH all the time and calibrate some expensive meter all the time. I understand FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil has stuff in it to contro pH (I will also be using their nutes). My tap water is 8.2-8.6 pH. Can I get away with growing a plant without ever worrying about pH ever. I hate pH. Thanks.
