home made co2

I agree that plants will benefit from any co2 supplementation to an extent but I dont agree that spending money to supplement Co2 without vent and ppm controllers is a worth while investment. In your case it is a by-product of your cider so you would be silly not to use it if possible. Your method is free for the sake of co2 so it is not wasting your money. I used to use the yeast mix to supplement co2 but in my case I found that the money spent wasnt being added in bud so I was wasting my money.
Yes this is true, I used the sugar, yeast crap but got tired of mediocre amounts of the gas, now if I start a keg it stinks the whole apartment out so plenty ppm's going on there.

Even though I don't believe in the use of organic co2, you got the right sh*t happening.
What do you think of those co2 buckets then, I think they are made from mushroom compost...so horse crap! They are about £140 here so bit rich for 90 days worth.

Supplying my plants with co2 is fu*k all for work and the timers and the fans do the rest. Co2, testing ph and adding ferts is all I have to do in the line of caring for my plants. I also go there to watch the auto watering and mostly monitoring sh*t. The enjoyable parts of growing pot.
"fuck all", i dont know if youre saying its not a lot of work or it is.

I don't anymore but in the past I had at least five gallons going all the time, and yah, it was a lot of fun getting drunk with my buddies.

No work at all wally nutter, line up a few bricks, light one end, put the filter over it and close the lid. I have one exception to organic co2 and that comes from my budders while the lights are out to my moms. My moms are on 24/0hr lighting.

Those CO2 buckets do work... but in a 3x3x3 area, that doesnt seem very effective does it. I used a 2 liter with around 2 cups of sugar and i packet of brewers yeast around 2 weeks ago and i can go out there right now and shake it and ittl still bubble good. I probally do need to add a bit more sugar to keep er going though. At worms way theyll sell you a 50pond C02 tank for $250 and when that runs out you trade em in for a full one for $20-$30. I want one but dont have the cash.
Does anyone know if a small Coleman personall heater ( the kind that screw on to a small propane tank) will work for C02???
Thanks

Same here, I just wish it wasnt so damn expensive. $250 for the tank then another $200 (on the cheap side) regulator and such.

Here in the UK the whole thing would cost around £150 tops, thats very expensive. Oh and it includes the deposit too.

There is no substitute for good genetics, the best grow environment in the world will not make a "super plant" from crappy seeds. imho Besides lighting, supplemental CO2 is the most effective thing you can do to increase yield, how you go about it (or if you can) depends on your environment. I do not agree that it is only effective in a completely sealed room w/o ventilation but then most of the ventilation I've seen is extremely overdone and may account for that view.
