i found this info its not the master key so dont know if it will help.......

Quick 1-2-3 steps: 1. Hold L, R, Up (Control Pad), X, B, and Select (You may need another set of hands to help you hold them down, so ask a friend) 2. Turn on your DS, and press A (start the browser) WHILE holding down the buttons, and do not let go.
3. If a window comes up and has options like "Reset Default" and "Clear Bookmarks", you're doing it right. You may now let the buttons go. However, if it comes up as "Password" still, you need to try again

While the browser is loading, hold L, R, Up, X, B, and Select Enter failsafe mode to clear bookmarks and reset to factory settings.
The key combination is the first thing checked for, so you have to be holding it from the start of the bootup. I got it working by powering up, holding the keys, and continuing to hold them while tapping A to launch the browser from the menu. Continue holding until you get the failsafe or asked for the password (in which case you need to try again

I thought you just gave them the enquiry number displayed on the dsi, and they provide you with a master key. Sorry I can't be of any help, hope you get it sorted mate

The master key is..........drop kick your ex wife in the ovaries!

I'm kidding, but seriously why wont she give you the damn pasword/pin/or whatever it is??!! Bit childish??

Is there some way to do a master reset of the entire thing?

Apparently you have to get an inquiry number, then you call nintendo with this inquiry number and they give you the master key. Now, how you get the inquiry number I don't know..........

Try this to do a factory reset if you get desperate:

1. On the Nintendo DSi Menu, use the stylus to select the Settings ("wrench") icon.

2. Select the right arrow to reach the forth page, then select "Format System Memory.

3. Choose this to erase all saved data, and return the system to the state in which it was purchased

I have no idea if this will erase the parental settings or not though.
Sorry, I wish I could inform you better, this kinda shit really pisses me off with technology, and it can be a bitch getting the right answer!

Good luck

Green.

Forget the chumps Goten.

Maybe sell it, if it doesn't get soughted, sell it to a gamestop or some other shop like that, they will know how to unlock it. Or even try taking it to one of these shops and asking how to unlock it for you hahaha, yeah, that makes more sense..........

My PSP fucked out a while back, and I spent aaaaaaaaaaaaages trying to research how to fix it. I finally figured it out, but man it took forever. I wish I had sold it and bought a new one.....

As a couple folks have said, if you return it to factory default it should reset everything. I don't know about the Nintendo DS at all, but with any kind of software like that reloading the default settings and wiping it will leave you with a clean slate and you can set your own password to piss your wife off. Just make sure your daughter won't be pissed that you deleted any saved data she might have wanted.

I was under the assumption that under parental lock, you would have to get past it to reset it? Otherwise any kid could do it?...
