i used to play on full tilt exclusively but i don't play on there anymore. when i do goof off online i am usually on stars.

and for all those people that say online poker is rigged, it's most certainly not. i make my living from playing poker (live, not so much online), and the same shit that happens online happens live too. u just see more of it online when you have a site like stars dealing MILLIONS of hands per day.

Yup, the riggat conspiracy theorists are generally losing players with no concept of variance. "omg I got 3 outtered on the river in a pf all-in and he won because he had a bigger stack to start the hand." Such idiocy

Although way back in the day I used to think the possibility existed in their PRNG algorithm to generate action ie. set vs set vs str8 fd, but it doesn't occur any more online per hand dealt than it does live, there's just some syndrome that when you're specifically looking for something and you see it, it stands out, and trumps the 90% of the time your flop c-bet takes the pot down.

Also there was some analytics ran over a several million hand sample that showed everything fell within an acceptable standard deviation of what the statistical expectation was for that sample. Not to mention their algorithms are independently analyzed by neutral 3rd parties. But somehow people still lose all their discretionary income and blame it on riggedness rather than poor play.

i come from a technical background. like you i did the research too, when i was wondering if they did set the shit up. but i think it's pretty clear, if you see how many hands are dealt, and how many independant auditors validate their software etc, it all is normal. they deal so many hands they don't need to go through the complexity and expense of "fixing" the game. i did the math once on what they average in a day of rake, and its ridiculous, they certainly do not need to blow that $ or risk losing their customers.

in the live games, people can't blame the website, or the poker club, or the casino. so it's just bad luck when they lose live :) sorry, next time don't suck at poker! : )

yup, although it always makes for a good joke amongst the right crowd.

was playing a turbo side event down there (live tourney), maybe 50 away from bubble, I get AQo UTG+2 and shove like an M of 4, gets folded to BB where some chinan internet nerd sits there thinking for a solid 5 mins, then finally calls and flips A10. Flop runs out Q K 2, and joking around I said something like "Jack hits the turn, stars is rigged obv" got a laugh out of the table, and when the dealer turned the jack people almost peed that I called that.

i was at a final table 3 handed about a year back in the casino, i flopped quad jacks and got rivered by an inside straight flush, he shoved into me on the flop, needless to say i beat him into the pot.

i always bring up this hand when people say online poker is rigged. i have seen people make videos on youtube about hands like this on stars and then a thousand comments saying rigged rigged rigged.

i guess online poker has been tainted by such scandals as the ultimatebet employee seeing peoples hole cards, and all the other various scams that run in online poker.

online is fine - live is better

online poker just bought me a new toro circ, a roor 5mm, new xbox 360 w/10 gms, fixed my truck (tranmission and hit deer), paid 2 months worth of bills including my mortgage, fixed my snomobile, and i still have 2000$ left on my account and all my work salary in the bank. and this is just last month winnings!!! i play for supplemental income from my chitty job. my fiends and family used to think i was a degenerate because i played online poker all the time, until they realized that i almost as much (some years more) $ playing poker as i do at my 55-60 hr a week job and i only play poker a few times a week. use to play at the local card clubs and the local casino, but the card clubs got real danferous the last few years with robberies. still play all the majors at the casino, but dont get there much for ring games and smaller tourny because of my work schedule. online makes it allot easier and safer.
