First Time CFL Incognito Dresser Grow

Hello, this is my first ever ATTEMPT to do this. Took an old dresser that was 5 drawers kept the bottom two and just boarded it up after the second and dummied the other 3. cut off the top and hinged it to get access. take a look!

used liquid nails to fasten the floor down and some screws. sealed everything with silicone and tape. not sure what the best thing to wrap the wood with was so we just bought tape for HVAC.

then we used 4 keyless porcelains and for the veg stage im using the 3 daylight 13 watt (60w) 6500k bulbs and one soft white 13 watt (60w) 2700k. then ill swap for the flowering part.

here's the layout i was hoping to do, 4 plants.

STEALTHH

================

Now comes the questions hahaha.

Lighting.
I read some here and there in the newbie section. and i noticed that its better to put a lot more cfl's in. i saw computer builds with more than 4. so i was thinking of getting 2 way adapters and doubling bulbs? or is what im rolling with ok? i mean its so bright but im trying to do it right. i could also add another fixture on the front to completly surround the plants.

Venting.
I know CFL's don't get that hot but they are throwing off some heat. and it is pretty sealed up. So my main question is what is the best way to vent this. i have a few computer fans and ac adapters i could rig up. but i am still trying to keep this pretty unknown. i was thinking of cutting on in the back and just laying a blanket over the top. it should keep the light out being in the back. is one hole with the fan enough? odor will eventaully be an issue.

Well please don't bash me TOO hard but ill take any advice you'll throw at me

how many watts are each bulb, they look small.. I'm running 5 x 26w 5000k cfl's right now (didn't have any 6500k when I went to get lights)

its kinda in the middle of all that haha sorry mang. since they are cfl's they are only 13w but give off the same as inc. 60 watters. guess i should word it right!

yeah but those look small, are they equivalent to 60 watts and 13 actual watts used? On the package it probably said 13watts equivalent to 60 watts, mine are 27watts equivalent to 100watts. Just asking from what I've read the rule of thumb is 60-80 watts per plant min. If you look through the bottom link in my sig you can see the difference in size of the bulbs.

Basicly with CFL's no you can't lol.. I can only fit 5 in my pc case but its not what I'll be growing in when the wife and I find a bigger place. But it will do the trick for now.

BTW I forgot to tell you that the dresser build is nice lol.. Clean looks legit and is nice and stealth +rep

added another light. upgraded to 26 watt (100 watt) CFL's. walmart didn't have the 2 way adapters so that will have to wait till tomorrow.

Dont wanna sound stupid.. but the pictures are with the top open. how are you going to be able to work in there with the lights in the way once the plants start growing?

i think im going to make the bottom 2 drawers dummys and put a round plug in fan and cut a hole in the bottom snap a mesh grill over it. and cut a pair of vents in at the top and have a filter for the odor and just have a blanket lay loosely off the back for no light to get in. they're is space at the bottom for air to travel to the fan and into the grow room and the stale air out the top!

think im finally there! cut a hole in the bottom and put a mesh grill over it. im just going to stick the fan under the tray and put it on low. cut two vent holes at the top with louvers to block outside light.

Let us know how it works out. Exhaust is my current problem too. I really like the stealth dresser idea. I might have to try one of those when my current box is finished.

Nice project, good work. Seems like the perfect situation for a decent l.e.d. light. Would bypass some problems.

Nice.

Well personally I would have build a pvc light rack and attacked it to the top so when you open the top up the lights come with the top so you can get down into the grow area easily. Just another idea, I still like how stealthy it looks and it still has a lot of functionality.

i have a steady temp of 80 degrees put a little computer fan at the bottom corner to circulate a little bit better.

yeah that would have been a lot more convient. in my research i figured the closer the bulbs to the plant the better. so its a pain, but i hope it's worth it.

now to just figure out my seed problems bleeeehhh.

Well yeah, the closer you can get the plants to the light without burning the plant is the best.. For myself I have a 6in clay pot with 12 VHS Tapes underneath it to raise it up to the lights. My little one sits about 2in away from the lights.
