Slow flower production mostly.. Your temps are fine though just watch your hygrometer and make sure day temps aren't extremely higher than night. Looking good bro.

Well it seems the fungus gnats are back . They are mainly in two of the pots .So I have been sitting here reading threads about fungus gnats again . We all know the number one suggested cure for them are products that contain Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis(bti) , a larvecide .The larve eat the bti then they quit eating and die breaking the life cycle . I read this stuff all the time but I can't ever find anything containg that stuff.
Until now . Although it's not listed on the product package Mosquito Dunks contain BTI it's the main active ingrediant. There's lots of info out there supporting their use , just google it and see. I'm off to Lowes soon to pick some up and be rid of those damn gnats.

But thats just the thing if money is no object any problem well almost can be taken care of .Glad that stuff worked for u. Its my fault I still have them I thought they was gone but I kept seeing a few here and there but I waited . I picked up the mosquito dunks just now and they are 10% BTI . They gant larve or any larve eat this stuff then die . So for 10 bucks u get 6 of these donuts and it only takes a 1/4 teaspoon to treat one pot . I,m gonna go a step further since they are in the bottom of my pots , I,m gonna fill my drip pans with water and some of the dunk and let the pots soak it up .There are good reports on other sites about this stuff.

I'm using the dunks in pantyhose in my rez to fight the fungus gnats. Didn't take out the current ones, but when I continued to use it and had a new cycle of uninfested plants, it seemed to take care of the few stragglers.

I guess after all these downfalls i should be able to right a good pm schedule to follow now .Last grow was spider mites, this one powdery mildew and fungus gnats. I know I,m definaltly going with a soiless mix next time and no organics at all too many bugs in the soil to fight.

PM is usually humidity problems. Same with bud rot. soilless is better than dirt like fox farm ect imo. Maybe coco would work for you?

ive never had this issue but have read that lady bugs will do the trick also. could catch em outside! the pe is my fav. mine tasted like grilled pineapple. i only had one seed so im not sure on how stable the gene pool is. i was impressed enough to order more tho. cant wait till dec to drop em in.

Ladybugs are only good for nonflying insects .With gnats you got to get them where they breed , in the soil .
I tryed Ladybugs when I had spider mites , they caused for mess than they did good .

It's cool . I managed to get two clones off the PE .I want to grow it again. Seems a very vigiorous strain buds out fast . They are ahead of the Purple Flo's.

Alright coldest day of the year so far , its 29 out this morning and I,m holding 65 for lights out ,not too shabby I think this will work out.

Thanks man . Yeah I be damned if I have to run a 1500w heater . I,d rather have the heat of 1500w of HID lighting . THat heater was adding 50 bucks to light bill as it was so I quit using it and run the fireplace more.So I came up with that idea to make use of it and have the heater control panel run the bulb kinda like a climate control heat only . What is cool though the blower was 120 v ,that heater has an auto mode where it turns the blower on and off with the heat.I can use that output along with another relay to control the exhaust in conjunction with everything.

Well getting ready for the next run . This will give me 4-6 weeks of veg time so when the current girls are harvested these will move right in.
Now from every thing I have learned I dont want to do soil anymore and I dont care too much for organics .Soil and organics = bugs.
So I,ve decided to go soiless and have been doing some research into soiless mediums .
The 2 most popular are Sunshine Mix#4 (peat and perlite) and ProMix about the same thing.So I,m thinking all thats in these two are peat and perlite .Oh forgot to mention they both have a starter charge of nutrient. So given that if you look at the ingrediants of Miricle Gro it is a soiless medium as well , If you buy the mix for cactus and succulants it has NO time release nutrients just a starter charge ,peat moss,composted forest products(probaly bark and twigs),sand,and perlite . So I know you say Miricle Gro what thats crap. But i think its the belief that all there soil has time release nutrients is why they have a bad rep. So I got a clone sitting in a 1g pot of Miricle Gro for cactus mix as an experiment to see how it does .This soil is listed as fast draining.
Now lets take this one step further . Small time growers on a budget like myself dont want to shell out for a bale of Sunshine or Promix.
I saw at home depot you can buy a bale of peat for 12 dollars 2.2 cf bale . So buy a bag of perlite and for around 20 bucks u got yourself a cheap soiless mix . It isnt proven yet but I'm gonna try it. I'll add some enzymes to the mix and I'll be using Jacks Classic fertilizer.
