Hey Steve, did you happen to see the latest box I made for pre-vegging/cloning? Well it was inspired totally by me seeing your cardboard box. If I hadn't seen this thread I wouldn't have built it, but it's really almost a barebones system, and the most costly thing in it were the light bulbs.

Love the box set up. What I think I'm going to do is eventually make a cab. I might keep the box for vegging though because it does seem being able to use the sun with the CFL's made the plant grow wonderfully.

So far everything is good. The smaller one has just started it's 3rd set of leaves. I gave them a good watering and sprayed the leaves a little with some water. In one week I'm going to switch over to 12/12 lighting. That should give the smaller one a chance to get some good veg going on. Here's the pics.

Well I noticed the bottom leaves begining to yellow and after doing some research I decided it was starting to get root bound. So I moved it from the 1.5 gal pot to a 3 gal pot. Hopefully this will be enough to make it through the flowering phase (1 week away). The roots were growing through the perelite and the newspaper that I put in the bottom (like in the seymorebuds book). Alot of it was at the bottom and growing in a circle. I broke it up a little while putting her in the new pot. Hopefully this helps with the problem. I also got a moisture meeter as I'm new to growing. It has a scale from one to ten. When is the best time to water them on this kind of a scale?

Seems to be working. The bottom leaves are starting to turn green again.

After the transfer to the bigger pot the leaves turned a little more green but they were still curled and looked unhealthy so I cut off the very bottom leaves. I beleive it was a little over watered. When I woke up this morning though the moisture thingy I got read that it was dry at the bottom so I gave her some water today. The seedling is moving along nicely. it's doing the same thing the other one did (it's a big top heavy) despite the fan being on it. I've got it tied to the same stick. Less than a week before I switch to 12/12. I'm excited. Still haven't seen the sex on the bigger one. It's about 10 inches tall right now. Here's the pics.

I noticed the preflowers starting to form when I was putting her to bed. I guess in a day or two we shall have our moment of truth.

Well there's a few more pre flowers but still can't tell if it's a boy or a girl yet. The little one is starting to pick up speed. I might go into 12/12 earlier because the big girl is getting taller. Here's the pics.

Nice. The only problem that I've been dealing with is when I have to take them out of the box. The bigger pot doesn't always wants to make it easy. I'd say make the door a little bigger. Aside from that it's been a great little box.

Well I've decided to start 12/12 today. It's day 16 for the smaller plant so I'll be following the same setup as buds for less. The larger plant still hasn't given me a definite sex but I'm thinking it's going to be female from looking at the pre flowers. Still no white hairs but they don't follow the descriptions I've read on the male preflowers. I'm hoping around 4pm today when I open the box that will have changed. I'm choosing to run the lights at night to help maintain a good temp. I'll post pics when I open the box. Things are looking great though.

Well here's day 40. It's been a little while since I've posted. I was hoping to have a definite answer on sex when I posted next but so far nothing. I'm not sure if what I've been seeing are preflowers or just leaves growing on side branches. I've included a pic of as close and as big as I can get it. If you've got any opinions let me know. They've both been growing great though. Been getting some rain out here so they've both been getting rain water too. The big one is almost 14 inches tall. The smaller one is sitting around 5. She just started week three. Been on 12/12 lighting for a week now.

Still no sign of the sex yet. It's only been one week in flowering time though. Things seem to be going well. had to raise the lights on the big one. If she gets any taller I might hae to start LSTing her. Not quite sure where to make her go. Well here's the pics.

Well I'm not seeing balls but I'm not seeing white hairs either. Wha ti though twas a preflower seems to have opened into a leaef almost like the top of a cola. Would this mean it's male? Some of what I thought were preflowers are turning into that. It almos tlooks like it's trying to make more side branches.

Well the smaller one has shown his balls. Still not 100 percent sure on the bigger one. The preflowers are still throwing me for a loop. Thinking about harvesting the pollen. Can't hurt to be able to make more seeds.
