Not wanting to sound like a dumbass but still have to ask....what is the difference between kief and hash?
Kief is the trichomes collected at the bottom of the grinder I have (3 section I think). Just a powder that smokes SOo nice. Hash is the same stuff just processed through pressing & heating (I think)
I keep collecting my kief for when I don't have any bud or id the buds bad (weak) I sprinkle a little of that in the bowl on a Friday night or Saturday morning (nice for wake & bake). I do that with Hash as well. I have maybe 2-3 grams of hash I have gotten over the past 2 years. I just cut a little off & mix it with the bud when I have time or space for nice relaxing smoke. (no wife or kids home)
bud, Keif & a little hash.. oh my.. now THERE's a party in a bowl~!
The second quote is PRETTY correct. The keif is the mushroom shape crystal on the buds, aka the trichome. Some grinders (like a 4 piece) have keif screens, that collect a little keif at the bottom of a tray under the screen.
Hash is whats made from the resinous glans usually from trim leafs. I'm not sure if that's what completely separates the terms (trichome on bud vs. resinous glands on trim leaf) but I would think so.
The simple way to differ hash and keif would just be saying that keif are a bunch of crystals in the same form as they fall off the plant & that hash is basically the same except hash is heated and pressed into a black gooey playdoh-like substance
Could you call heated and pressed keif, 'HASH'.. yes. But some may try to correct you by saying its a 'keif disc'
