Hey, I recently had an overwatering problem I was told, I watered 2 gal pots with 6 week olds once a day or every other day. They've been w/o a watering for a good 3 days now. Also, one of my plants leaves were curling around the edges and I was told this is because of heat...but I raised the light 3 inches and keep a solid air flow...don't know if its serious problem but i'd like all my babies to look good. If you want info on my grow setup check out my grow journal.'

pic 1 - see the curling of the leaves, over watering?
pic 2 - edges curling, heat?
pic 3 - over watering?

some good advice would be great mates...cheers

Do you ph test before adding liquids? What strength do you mix you ferts at? Do you have a moisture meter? What is the temp of your grow room? What kind of light do you have? What is the temp where the light meets the highest point of your plant?

Thanks guys. I'm looking for a heavy yeild, any idea what kind of harvest i'll see? how many ounces per plant (and what heighth are we talking about...like if i veg out clones longer will they yield more? will my mothers yeild a lot since they'll be vegging out for awhile? Should I buy more lights?) etc etc. Cheers.

Do you ph test before adding liquids?
Yes, my tap water is 7.3 and i drop it .5 using ph down

What strength do you mix you ferts at?
only fed plants twice since transplanting at 2.5 weeks, first was half strength second time few weeks later at full strength. Havent' added nuts in over a week. Gonna wait a few more weeks to nut cause they have fresh miracle grow soil with plenty of food, I believe.

Do you have a moisture meter?
Yes, one inch below says dry-ish, few inches more = moist, next few = wet

What is the temp of your grow room?
ranges from 72-80

What kind of light do you have?
400w mh

What is the temp where the light meets the highest point of your plant?
gonna find out

i wouldn't advise miracle grow soil if it has time released fertilizer in it i can't really explain to much about it since i don't know that much i just now it's not the best just get regular soil and add your own nutes in it when needed

Dude, Your plants are bitching nothing is wrong at all with pic 1 and 3. The only thing the matter with pic 2 is you had the light a bit close to the leaves. When plants droop for over/underwatering its pretty damn obvious.

your plants look pretty darn good..

leaves will not curl down with heat... they will actually POINT UPWARD..

iloveyou

Stop feeding for a few waterings and just let things chill... something is wrong.. it is minor and may fix itself...(picture 2)

Miracle grow's soil ph is off, the nutes you want to use is foxfarm. There are other good ones too, MG is not one of them. Your yeild will depend on your experience, and growing techniques that you decide to implement.

Hey Willy,,
Looks good...

Over watering and underwatering can look very similiar.. Often during the winter months when the garden stays below 75 degrees.. the plants will not need more than 1 watering every 7-10 days.. especially if ONE is using CFLs

Your stems still look green and healthy and your new growth looks vigorous.... each new set of fan leaves bigger than the previous set.. These are both signs of a healthy plant..

cheers

In response to the third picture with the cut leaf:
I had one (actually two) leaves that looked like that, mine came because i had a little nute burn early in the plants life and the very tip of the leaf never developed, don't know if that happened to yours too.
In any case, it is an old fan leaf and if your new growth is good, don't worry too much about it.

you should get a meter to check the soil to see if its overwatering or underwatering, they arent very expensive and can save alot of guessing.
Other then that, everything looks good man. Keep it up :)
