Need Help Problem Solving This Little Kink In My Plans

I bought an 8in in-line fan with 530ish cfm for my cab in my signature and installed it.

The problem is that the fan is so powerful it sucked the tarp in and pulled both sides of the velcro off. What to do?

Tacks would just shred the tarp and I'm not sure if the 6in of this brand is powerful enough. The 6in has a cfm rating of 293... pretty sure that wouldn't be enough.

Btw, your avatar is kinda creepy haha, looks like a penis on his chin.

Your just cooling one light right? I dont see why the 6in wont be enough. You could also get a fan controller and turn it down

I have one... doesn't turn it down low enough... I'm just gonna get some insulation board and put it in there as another door

Technically, the fan as removed enough air to create a negative pressure inside the cabinet strong enough to allow the positive pressure outside of the cabinet to push the tarp off.

To answer this question I posit another.
What can you put into a barrel to make it lighter?

A hole.

Add an intake hole and the higher pressure air outside of the cab will rush in through the intake rather than through the flimsy tarp door.

The insulation door was a good idea though, do that too, but also cut yourself an intake.

A cabinet without an intake is like a pipe without a carb.

There is an intake... if I pput my hand to it, it gets sucked to it.

well if you dont want to return that fan i see your best option as creating a larger intake thus creating less backpressure inside your cab other than that try and get something like you said like insulating board stiffen those walls up so they cant suck in.

I'm picking up the insulation board today, so hopefully it'll work... would have never thought that I would get to powerful of a fan, haha!

yeah right? well when your running just film as your walls and no board behind them for support i suppose it makes sense i mean the intake hole can only let so much in so no matter what you do there is going to be negative pressure lol only way around it is stiffen up the side walls

The cabinet has stiff walls. If you take a look the link for my cab is in my sig, just the door was made with the poly. The fan actually sucked my mylar off the walls to... air was getting behind it I guess.
