My First Grow: Journal

Day 112 (Week 8 Flower). Last week of flower for the small plant. It almost looks ready now. Tall plant looks like it could go two more weeks or so. Not sure yet about that one. Plants have fatten up nice. Every branch needs to be tided, and the small plants cola is just hanging with bud weight. Looks like it wants to tip over. All going well. Should have some nice bud here in week or less.

Man those are looking great! It has been nice watching your grow my friend! Do you have your other seeds started? Maybe it is about time to get them going! Even if you have to go to home depot and get a small light to limp them along for their first couple of weeks of life it would be worth it to get a two week jump on their life! Man that little one looks like it is almost done! With all those brown hairs on there, have you got anything to check the trich's yet? If not I would just keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't sprout any banana's on the buds. If you see any chop that bitch! Now you are about to start the trimming part of growing, it sucks but do it right and dry them right and you will be with smoking some good ol Northern Lights from Nirvana!

Thanks bro. I dont have a scope yet, but I will get one for the my next grow. I'm gonna just have to judge this one with my eye the best way I can. Thats why I plan on them getting good and ripe before I pick them, I'd rather it be a bit Stone effect than be immature/week bud. I havent started the new beans yet. I need to wait until these plants are done and cured first. Tall plant might have to go two more weeks, so not sure right now when the new beans will get started.
It was fun growing this strain together. I think we both learned alot this go around lol.

I would get those beans rooling bro! But if you want to wait that is up to you. One thing I learned on trimming is don't try to get every fucking leaf off the buds, just trim it up quckly! I was digging in there and trying to get every damn leaf out of there. It ended up taking me over a day each plant to trim that shit up. If I were you I would just run the trimmers up the bud and just cut everything semi flush. Some of the bud I saw at the co-op had crazy leaves on it! Almost like they just took off the fan leaves and left all the smaller leaves on the buds.
No worries though I am excited to see some pic's of your hanging little one. Seems like yesterday when we started talking and you had your little sprouts growing!
They grow up so damn fast!

Haha, mine didnt grow up that fast at all! The tall one will take six weeks longer than it should have. The fucker is almost six feet tall. I am starting wonder if that plant isnt' a Jock Horror. It looks just like that plant. Has a real fruity smell to it too. I mean this plant doesnt look like a NL at all, in any way.
Yea, I dont plan on taking alot of time on the plant. I will do most of the trimming with my hands lol.

yeah the one thing about Nirvana seeds that I have learned is that they are all different! Even if you buy the same strain I would say only two of the five look the same all the others look different. But their seeds are cheap and I got some good yeilds off of them so I can't complain. How much do you think you will get off of that big one? Six feet is huge! It is so funny smoking your own shit! I still have over two OZ's left of my NL grow and smoking that is great! I love not having to pay for weed! Not that I did before cus I didn't smoke, but smoking your own weed is so great! Trust me Cryp when you start puffing on your own weed all of your growing pains with this grow will melt away and you will surely laugh at it! Just cure that shit out right and take your time. If you don't have the micro trimmers check WalMart, you can pick some up for under $10.
Oh and what is you plan on curing out your weed? I know you and I know you have read the shit out of the forums on this, so what is your plan to fit your budget?

When I say money is tight, it is tight lol. But no worries, this will be the last month where money will be real tight. I got the Dept. of Edu to stop taking money out for my student loans, and I am getting my health insurance premuims lowered too. So starting next month (next grow), I will have the cash to get the rest of my grow supplies.
My cure will be simple. Cut, trim, hang, then jar. Short plant wont get a dark period b/c the tall plant will still be flowering, so no space/money to setup a darkroom for it. Tall plant will get a two day darkperiod, then cut, trim, hang, jar.
I Dollar store just opened near me and that thing is full of good cheap stuff that I can use on my grow. Going there today to get some glass jars lol.

Sounds good brotha! Make sure you cure in the dark though. I know you already know this just wanted to make sure you didn't forget. I never thought the dollar store would have cureing jars there. I will have to go check it out and see. I don't want to sound like a snob at all cus I am not but I hate going to the dollar store! The fucking people there just look so dirty and full of sickness! Just because you are poor doesn't mean you can't take a fucking shower! I have had hard times, shower in the sink if you have to! I am also a OCD person and also a Germ Phobe so that doesn't help! LOL GL on the cure brotha and can't wait to see some final weight and pic's!
And I am also glad to hear you are getting some breathing room on the bills! I hate being tight on money and at Christmas is the worst!

Sorry I didnt answer your question about the tall plant. Not sure how much it will yield, its just too hard to tell right now. I think it needs two more weeks anyway. The short plant should give about two ozs. I dont have a scale, nor do I plan to ever have one. I dont want to get into trouble if I ever get caught. Big difference between possesion and distribution and trafficing lol. I have a phobia about going to prison lol.
The Dollar store near me is brand new and looks like a Walgreens. I will check for jars and let you know. If they dont have anything, I can buy mason jars by the case at Ace, or buy them single at the grocery store. Either way, I will get some glass jars that will work for me.
Hopefully I will be smoking some dried popcorn buds by this weekend, and smoking some semi cured small buds next weekend. Looking forward to it.

Just finished harvesting my first plant. I did the quick and dirty trim job. Just ran the clippers down the sides of the buds real quick. That being said it still took me about two hours to trim. I'm sure I will get faster with each plant. The buds were a little more airy than I had first thought. Overall, a good crop all things considered. Given the strain I grew and fact that I use CFLs, I think it was a good yield. I think it looks like two ounces when it will be dried, maybe a little less. Hard to say. Enjoy the pics guys.
