Yellow/brown spots on plant leaves

Hey there, first time grower - long time smoker

Anyways, here is my plant pics attached below.

As you can see on the first pic it has one of the leafs in it and on the leaf its yellowing and brown spots are appearing.

As you can also see its light by 5 CFL's and its on a 24 hour a day cycle.
I water it about every two days.
It was in a tiny red plastic cup ( you know the one's you play beer bong with )
then in a taller cup.
then in a 2 liter DR Pepper bottle which of course was see threw so the roots was getting light.
I just put it in the can you see it in now.


anyone have any idea as to what is going on?

Firstly, transplanting so many times can be very stressfull to the plants. The spots looks like calcium deficiency. Try using some cal / mag or Molasses or dolomite lime. Any of these would work. From the purple stems you also got what looks like a phospherous deficiency, but that could also be due to low temps. What are your temps like?

I guess I will have to make a trip to the store then - and for the temperature, I am sure its not correct. Its cold here now and its sitting on the floor which is basically cement. Its not to terrible cold in there though, those lights do have some heat to them.

Also, the leafs closer to the bottom, they are yellowing and wilting, same thing for them as for the spots?

When you go to the store, try getting a thermometer as well. You have to control the elements yourself and if you don't know these elements are doing it will be hard to diagnose any problems. Try and get them as close to perfect as you can and it will improve your crop. I dont normally use CFL's but it looks like you can get more of them.

You think I need more lights?

Yes, the more light the better. The sun give out a crap load of lumens per square foot, think it's around 10 000 lumens per square foot. You will never reach that sort of lumen output with light but you can definitely try and get as close as possible.

This could be nitrogen dificiency but it could also be due to overwatering. Your soil does look pretty wet. You say you are watering about every 2 days. Is the soil dry when you are watering? Also what nutrients are you using.

Yeah, that's the one. This will also increase your yield as it contains loads of carbohydrates which it likes.

then ill go with my 2nd guess
i assume ur soil had nutrients
clearly it was over fertilized at one point in its life(earlier on, since the claw is on older leaves)....
now that this piece of info is available,i think its safe to say it needs to be fed
get some fertilizer and feed with light strength in the proper ph range

Would be good to start then. Get something that fairly balanced like 10-10-10 and contains micro nutrients such as boron, iron, magnesium etc.. Nutes lower in P & K and higher in N will also do.

Mix with water 1tbls per gallon of water.

I totally agree!!!

Also, for the amount of cfls you have and the tight space of the box, I can tell you your temps are high! I have a box a little bigger and when its too hot or the ph is off, my plants started looking the same.

Or realistically its because he aint fed any nutes yet and the plant is hungry? Claiming everyones "yellow with brown spots" problem is some mad fungus is ridiculous, and this is the second thread you've posted that answer on today.

could always be a heat issue...brown spots. It is hard to get plant too hot with cfl's but it can be done

How long has it looked like that?

It could be underwatering, overwatering or too many nutes? It's hard to tell. Let us know what you have been doin' lately? JR

Edit: The last pic the plant looks OK. I don't like the metal can, it can do lots to the chemicals and the PH of the soil, look at a nursery for extra pots layin' around and snake a few, OR , buy a few for a couple dollars...Good luck JR
