thanks for all the responses guys, sorry i was at school all day so i wasnt able to join in. But, i will start regular feeds tonight and pick up some epsom salt this weekend. i have alright drainage and some seepage usually but ill make sure to work on that too by removing part of the bottom of the pot (it catches runoff and keeps it in the bottom of the pot). Ive heard that low humidity is good in flower though, to cut the chance of mold and produce THC. isnt 35-50% optimal
John,
That's a good idea. You should never let
any container grown plant sit in standing water. Besides having drilled numerous extra drain holes in the bottom of my pots I also keep them blocked up a half inch off of the surface they sit on so that not only can they drip out freely after I water but also so that air can circulate up under the pot. Since you only have a small number of plants going I'd recomend that you water by sitting them in the sink (or tub) and then use enough water to where you get a good amount of run off out the bottom. Then let them sit there for 15 to 20 minutes so the soil can drip out all it wants to before putting them back on the base they normaly set in under the light.
Concerning MG ferts burning roots.....while there's no doubt that a lot of people have fucked up a lot of pot plants using MG products the fault doesn't lie with the MG products themselves. You can fuck up a plant with any of these ferts that are out there if you don't use them correctly.
That MG tomato food (18-18-21) you've got wouldn't be my first choice for a supplimental fertilizer but since it's what you've got on hand I'd recomend you give them a dose of it. I certainly wouldn't run out at this point and spend a bunch of money on one of these
wazoo cannabis specific "bloom nutes" in hopes that it will
somehow magically fix your plants. It's just not going to happen. The damage has been done so to speak and nothing you can do at this point is going to restore those fan leaves. The best you can hope for at this point is to slow down the rest of the plants foliage yellowing out an dying so that you can get
some smoke off of it.
I've been using Jack's Clasic All Purpose Plant Food (20-20-20) this grow (for both veg and bloom) with pretty dam good results. I'm about a week or so from harvest and still have 90% + of all my foliage in a good healthy green condition. And I'm using the original MG potting soil as my growing medium. The only thing I've ammended it with is about 20% extra perlite to improve it's drainage characteristics.
As to humidity.... I wouldn't get caught up in fretting about it. I don't think it has any bearing on what's wrong with your plants. If it's in the 25 to 75% range you're fine. If it get's above that for extended periods of time you
might have to start worrying about mold problems. I never view low humidity as a problem. It just means you'll have to water more often.
