when talking to the owner of my local hydroponic shop. he talked a little about soilless growing. ive done soil grows before but never a soilless grow. i have a couple bricks of coco coir. i was kinda high when i talked to him so i forgot most of what he told me about the soilless grow. i was more looking at the botny care organic line, thats what i was there for, to get prices. if you've grown in coir before. did you add anything to the coir or just coir? how often does it need to be watered? any info of past grows will be helpful and thank you for your reply.

I use Canna coco... and have never looked back. You can't overwater them and they are practically disease free...go to the canna.com website. You can't mention MJ but there is enough info to get you started. It's a great medium to grow in. A little more expensive than Fox Farm soil but well worth it.

anyone else? i found 3 bricks of coco coir for $7 at petco. what do you add to your coir?
Personally I add the following NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just make sure you get some Coco specific nutes as they contain the added Ca/Mg that you need with coco.

The beauty of coco is that there are no plain water days you just feed feed feed feed feed. If you find you have burning then reduce your concentration until burning stops.

Its pretty fool proof especially if you get yourself and EC meter.

Pics below of plants grown in coco.

I grew in 50\50 perlite to coco.
I'd loved it if it was 100% coco, but thats much more expensive around here for a reason.

Why do you want to create more work for yourself?
just use the coco straight.

nope im not using hydroton i want to use coco. im a soil grower. iver never realy done much to my plants besides make sure their watered or just let mother nature take care of them. ive done a couple indoor with use of little to no nutes. i like the idea of the coco and from what ive read it's alot better then soil so thats what i want to try next. so it's coco or no grow. i have coco coir bricks from pet store. should i add some lager coir to it or should this coir be ok?
