-Journal- 1st grow with cfl's and Bagseed!

Yessir that looks like a good start. It looks like everybody is giving some really good advice, specially on nutrients. Helped me out a lot, too. I think I'll go with something different than MG Bloom next go-around, but for now it's okay I guess. Good luck TFizz.

Update

Week 2 as of yesterday, The plants look good, getting very bushy and has some good looking undergrowth. One plant, the slightly older one is looking almost too bushy, i had it so close to the light that i think it just stayed short, which is good for me, but i'm wondering if TOO bushy is a problem? i lowered the plants a little so hopefully they stretch a little. One last thing, some of the leave tips are droopy and touching to soil, in turn curling the tips i think.i'll post some pics tomorrow if i can.

Looks like underwatering to me.
Might be a heat issue as well.

You have a while until flowering, they are way too small, even for your setup.
Wait until they could be bent to fill the space horizontically.

too bushy can be a problem in a few ways. an overly bushy plant can trap moisture under the canopy and lead to powdery mildew or budrot. it can also hide many things such as spider mites from regular sight. the tips curl as a sign of ph problems or nutrient lockout or even too much nutrients- not really sure on this. the cfls keep plants short and bushy. ive never flowered with cfls tho. as plants get a bit taller you can cut off bottom undergrowth. if you choose to do this, do it before flower. also think about treating for bugs even tho you dont see any. its a good idea to start a insecticide treatment regime. this way it doesnt sneak up on you before its too late...and it is always too late, unless you are keeping everything in control. again, do this before flower. how often you watering, what are the temps? im in 16 oz party cups, temps are around 70-75f. when my plants were that size i watered once every 3 to 4 days. this should give you a reference. check the weight of a fully watered plant and let them drink everything until they start to droop because of lack of water. it will be ok for them...check the pots weight when the water gone. i like to go just to the point before water is gone. a half day to a day before they begin to droop due to lack of water.

Over watering can cause a constant droop. Ive noticed everytime I water the plants seems to relax. After a few hours they will perk back up. She could be unhappy with her conditions such as soil/temperature/light. i wouldnt worry about it. you phing your water?

If height is an issue looks like you picked the right strains- indica dominant. plan on plants doubling in size during the 8 weeks of flower. also remember you can train plants width wise...do some rough estimates to figure out the best time to flip em. some plants will only grow 1.5 the size.

Thanks, i think i'm over watering too. Heat isent an issue, it keeps really cool in there. I REALLY hope its not a root problem... its mg organic, i noticed they have hit the bottom of the pot. The pot has some drainage, but not tons, just 2 small holes on 2 sides. is that enough? the other 2 plants look good, one is really perky and a decently tall one compared. I dont have a ph reader but i just use bottled water, the ph on that should be good right? i moved the droopy plant a bit lower so it will hopefully stretch a little. i'll not water it so much. I did notice some bugs at the start, but i killed them, havent seen one in about a week and 1/2 which seems good.

idk if this helps, but i checked on my plants, and the really bushy and droopy and the lowest on the stem, the end of it was all crispy, and dry, so i cut it off with scissors. hope that info helps out. thanks for the help, i'll update if anything happens.

ohhh, and as for nutrients, i only have it a small amount of mg 15-30-15 i doubt enough to hurt it.

using bottled water wont help your ph...i think tap might even have a better ph range. lots of things will change ph as well including the nutrients you add...the crispyness was at the bottom of the plant? basically a few leafs that died off?

yes small amounts should be fine, just be sure to give her only water every other feed as well. an indication of too much nutrients is burnt leaf tips...an indication of not enough nitrogen (first number) is a light green looking plant.

Little update, well i have noticed over the last week or so, that my plants have started having SOME sort of problems. All 3 plants now have yellow leaves, mainly just the lowest ones, but they will turn yellow, with brown spots, and just look all werid. Some leaves look fine, but have a few brown spots, i'm not too worried, but if anyone knows how to treat that, that would help! thanks! i'll update with pics and things soon.

My first guess would be ph problems. If you are sure water in and media are proper ph levels then start looking at how much you are feeding and of what. Here is a chart showing what happens when ph is out of optimum range. Post some pics and ill try to help you figure this out.

alright thanks, well that's the best water i have access to. would the next option be getting ph adjusters? my friend has a hot tub, and has ph test sticks, and ph up and downs i think. but is there any easier option? only the bottom leaves seem to be having trouble. I'll post pics tomorrow if i can.

vinegar for ph down and baking soda for ph up. you will need a cheap meter which will cost around 15 on ebay. or buy the droplet kind for fishtanks or pools. the dip sticks will suffice as well. talk to doc111 in the thread water:the most essential compound. he taught me alot bout water.

They look bad, man...

What are you giving them?
It looks like N defeciency, but that shouldn't be the case at this early stage so its probably a pH issue (a really bad one, which is pretty hard to get) or an antigonism effect by overdoing other fertilizers.
Having trouble with this stuff? Get some earthworm castings and top your soil with it. Then just water with water for 2 weeks or so - it should provide all you need.

And you have to sort out your watering issue, they really don't look properly watered - either overwatered or underwatered.
Just lift you'r pots before watering - if they are very light, water until there's a runoff. Ifthey seem to have some water in them - don't water.
