where to begin?

I need to start growing, this is just burning a giant hole in my wallet and it doesn't need to be...... I have my own place, and I don't have any pre problems with the cops as it is, not even a DUI, I guess I'm lucky.. But what do I even do?!?!?!! I mean am I supposed to buy good white widow seeds offline or just use my own? How do I take care of my electric bill not going up really high, or the smell out? Where do I do it, how many plants are sufficient for a person who smokes a few bowls everyday and enough to share? Just what do I doo? Obviously there is endless books and guides, but just help me out a little to start please

For a first grow, start basic and use a good seed. I went with an auto flower because its simple to grow. My first grow was feminized Short riders from Nirvana seed shop.

Even cfl grows will add 20 bucks to your electricity bill. its a fact of life for me. i ran (3) 42 watt bulbs 18 hours a day for 63 days and produced some kick ass bud for the time put in. but yes it did increase my bill some.

you need a place to grow, that offers darkness. So a closet is awesome if you have one. Paint the inside flat white paint. Buy a fan for the space, Hang your light from chain. make sure you can easily move this light up and down. it should be close to the plants. how close depends on the light.

Decide on hydro or soil grow. each has a number of things to learn about to get up and running. I grow hydro so thats what i know about. germinate your seed and plant it in your growing medium and provide some light. In a few days you will have sprouts, in a few more you have seedlings.

About the electric bill, I'm not worried about paying it, I'm worried about the feds noticing the spike... What can I do to stop that? If I grew hell 4 plants,
How long does it take for them to sprout?
how long do I wait?
how big to I get them? When do I harvest?
How much bud approx will even come out of a plant?

I don't know anything about this seriously, I just smoke it

initial equipment cost is where its at. I'm on my third grow and am still spending hundreds on equipment. If you want really big yield go with hydro but its more work and cost. You got a lot of questions but they barely scratch the surface, there will be a multitude of questions before its over.

My first problems were environment, I decided to do hydro even though I knew jack shit about growing anything, I was like you, just liked to buy and smoke it.
So the first thing you'll probably wanna do is make sure you got all bases covered with temperatures and humidity, this can be troublesome and costly depending on how you do it and what type climate you live in.

I'm not gonna do hydro my first grow, I am thinking about doing just one plant in a pot just to start and see what I am in for! What temp does it need to be at? And how many bulbs of how much light should go into this closet for the first plant? I'm so excited

Also, is the smell a big deal with a few plants only?
Lol, also, will it come out as shwag brown shit? I don't really care if it will, but I want my first plant to be memorable
Also, how much weed will one plant and one grow produce? And how long will it take?

lot of info needed for all that. I recommend downloading "the grow bible" or any good grow guide. We can give you tips and hints but a full out read will do wonders for you. Temp is pretty relative. between 65-85 degrees and you're fine. be mindful of over watering, over fertilizing, too much/not enough light, and like i said research!

a nice tip i learned for watering your plant is by weighing it. Some say to do it every certain amount of days, or same times each week, etc. Those won't work because as the plant grows it uses up different amounts of water and so on. So once you're passed the sprout stage and you're watering the whole pot (with 10% run off) weigh it on a bathroom scale. Then only water it when it weighs half the weight as it was when fully watered. That will give you a more accurate approach instead of sticking your finger in or timing it.

every strain has a different yeild .................. Even 2 plants of the same strain can have different yeildS.
There are a million things to learn and if you don't know much about growing I would suggest doing A LOT of reading its just a matter of separating the facts from the bullshit . And there is a whole lot of either .

First pick a room with good controllable ventilation and totally light proof. Get you pots/lights and shit organized, by asking and reading heaps. Select seeds - many to pick from. Then off you go. TBH, if you are serious, you will have bud in ~4-6 months.
As for soil indoor grow - GL with that.

I see the tote thing you have there, what is that? I mean how do you build it? If you can tell me how you got that to work, I wanna try that because it just seems awesome and better than anything else for the first time

I just completed my first grow from bagseed which was crap when I bought and smoked it, but came out so fruity and sticky in was incredible..my friends could'nt believe I grew it even the person who taught me could'nt believe it...lol. I got all my help from various sources like High Times and there different Jorge Cervantes videos explaining each grow Hydro Vs Soil and the pro's and con's, Youtube because you can see first hand basically anything you need to know, also this site and other's asking people just like your doing now. You definately want to go soil first go because Hydro is unforgiving!! You plants can die before you even get a chance to flush your system plus you have to be on top it checking numerous times per day. Look at my album's on my profile page. I grew 4 females to flower in 3 months inside of a closet that is 3x3x9 using about 250-300 watts of CFL lights no real spike in electricty it could be a spaceheater. It was so easy I feel stupid for not having been doing it for the last 15 years I have been smoking. I'm currently on my 2nd grow with seeds from attitude and things are going even better than the first go so I started my third grow and will bring my 4th right behind it to start a rotation, that way I will always have free bud of the best quality and top strains (I'm talking the stuff people are paying $400 per ounce for here I will get per plant at least). I grow totally organic running Humbolt Nutrients Natural Line and Fox Farm Light Warrior then Ocean Forest, extra perlite, and Bat Guano with extra beneficial fungi, Superthrive, Spray and Grow. To me the most important thing is to have a strong soil biology adding the proper microbes and fungi to help break things down colonize your roots....remember RIF. Reading Is Fundemental...LMAO!!! I used to love that program back in the 80's public schools. Good Luck and feel free to ask me any questions in the future. I'm on here every other day still learning!!!!

YES!! this is a perfect example of a 1st grow - nice effort db - selecting proper seeds for yourself is important too, follow dbkick's lead...hydro can be v easy once you have a routine and to grow a small amount of plants is the way to go...soil can be hard to assess and messy...hydro allows you full control over plants, the rest will be up to how green your thumb is ..GL m8
