Cooltube

Hey Guys,

I was thinking of getting a cooltube reflector and had a question. How would I use this with a carbon filter?

I want to pull the air through the carbon filter rather then blow it out the filter, but I cant see how to do this since there is only 1 opening on the filter.

Any ideas?

I am an idiot. I only thought cooling hoods had one opening to pull from. I didnt know there was one on each side. This might also be a stupid question, but with the carbon being pulled through the cool tube can carbon particles get stuck in there and build up and or break the bulb? sometimes i hear carbon going through my duct.

Does a cool tube 6" reflect well? I have a 3 x 3 x 6.5 tent. I am going to get a 600W lumatek ballast and sunmaster bulb.

A mistake I made was that I didn't hoover or vacuum out my filter before I installed it. After about 3 or four months the carbon had got into the motor and fan went bang. Just try get rid of all the loose stuff. I think the cooltube will reflect plenty. sometimes they come with reflective fins for more area.

Are you using a 1m x 1m x 2m tent. If so you may not even need to use a cooltube if you have a decent enough fan and plenty of circulation

A little smaller then that...I have a 3 ft by 3 ft by 6.5 ft tent with a 6" inline velocity fan. I got the cool tube mainly because I got it for a good deal. 35 dollars instead of 99 dollars, so i couldnt pass it up. I may not install it just yet though... I also did not vacuum my filter and didnt know I should. Good to know for next time though.
