Want to make Feminized seeds?

Okay guys. This is very short and to the point. A little bit of research and time.

I'm just sick of hearing from everyone that all hermie seeds are fem and good to grow. This should clear everything up. When I have more time, I will go ahead and create a real guide with pictures.

1. Take a fully mature indica female, two months into budding and let her bud for another 2-4 weeks past her prime.
2. Out of stress of not being pollinated she will try to pollinate herself.
3. She will create female pollen sacks called bananas.
4. Harvest these bananas when they are fully developed.
5. Use the pollen from these bananas to pollinate a female plant that is two weeks into flower.
6. wait another month and a half.
7. Harvest fem seeds and they are 90% fem and 10 percent male.
8. Enjoy an easier grow season next year.

Technically they are hermie seeds because they are part male but its only a small percentage.

Another problem with these seeds is after one grow they should not be used to breed again. The seeds produced by a these fem plants will have even more male characteristics each time they are used to rebreed.

So its a bad idea to use them over and over.

Did I answer your questions?

Or got anything to add?

+Rep if you learned anything in class today.

Yeah I was watching a video and Soma shows that as one of his methods if you dont know who Soma is you should research him online he has some great growing techniques that I think everyone can learn from he truly is a master at this art and growing ... ! alot of companies use sodium thiosulfate method too stressing the plant to make it grow sacs ! very interesting stuff !

interesting, so then are you more likely to get hermies in optimal conditions from feminized seeds as opposed to regs?

Yeh thats what I did last year,to my superlemonhaze. My masterkush popped a couple claws, and I pollinated her.Only got a couple beans, but I got a stupid superlemonkush plant out of it.Its flowering,I'll put it up soon.Seed companies don't use that method,I'm sure they spray female plants with STS.

yeah I know DNA Genetics which is a really good company I have some of there genetics use Sodium Thiosulfate for creating fem seeds. Must be a reason they use this method over the easiest method which is just letting them polinate themselves after over maturation it would seem that would be the method for people to use must be a benefit to using STS ? am I wrong ....

Alright Balzac I've got a question for you... can i harvest all of the buds off the plant before letting it produce male pollen?

That is one question I cannot answer. I would advise against it because it may cause to much stress on the plant.

Then again I've never harvested while trying doing this method. try it out. Leave on bud on it and see what happens?

I'm willing to bet you could harvest all but one main stem and still have it produce pollen. I have a drying/curing/storage are in my closet that easily convert to a seeding area. Great way to save genetics and switch strains without worrying about having to reorder seeds.

Another tip, to ensure that the plant does go into survival mode within the two extra weeks of flower, cut the light cycle back to only 10 hours of light, 14 off.

This is the way that every major seed company produces fem. seeds.
This is a false statement.

I have seen this technique posted before on another forum...almost word for word.

The best source (and way more detailed) about breeding I have found has been in the book: The Cannabis Grow Bible 4th Edition

It will get you started.
