I am starting two new grows as my other plants are entering their final flowering phase. I will be growing 2 Nirvana White Rhino and will be documenting this from start to finish. I started a grow of 2 unknown haze varieties 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago but didn't have my camera so, I will just keep you updated with pics etc. about those two plants. It was three plant but 1 plant just started showing balls.

Set-up:
4X4X8 Grow tent (Gyo Supplies)
1 Oscillating fan hanging from ceiling
1 Stationary fan blowing air out
Digital Timer: on at 7am, off at 7pm
fungus gnat and white aphid sticky paper
No odor control yet, but I will be buying soon, It stinks in here!...but I smoke so much it smells normal. LOL

Lights:
18 CFL bulbs(1-42 watt 2700k, 3-23 watt 6500k, 6-26 watt 5000k, 8-23 watt 2700k)
All bulbs are in double socket hanging lamps. 3 bulbs have reflectors.
I raise and lower the light as I see fit, but they are generally no closer than 6 inches and no further away than say 12 inches.

Now these plants are in my flowering tent so they are sharing these lights with 8 other flowering plants (4 finishing in 3 weeks, and 4 finishing in 7 weeks).

Soil:
I use a mixture of the following (I don't have exact ratios I do it by eye)
Sterilized potting soil
100% Earthworm castings
Sphagnum peat moss
Dolomite lime
Perlite
Mexican Bat Guano (10-1-1)
Monrovia Organics Azalea & Camellia Food (4-5-5)
Epsom Salt

I mix it all up real good and then divide it into pots. I don't wet or "cook" the soil.

Pots:
I start (or at least for this grow) with Peat pellets
From there to pots that are a little smaller than one gallon,
from there I upgrade to 3 gallon pots.
The final pot size is either a 5 or 7 gallon, depending on what I think the plant needs. I finish in either the 5 or 7 gallon pots.

Here are the picture of the 2 white rhino. They just poked their heads out and have been transplanted yesterday. All the single shots are the 12/12 from seed. the group shots contain some clones. The pics with the longest growth are the haze that are now at 2 1/2 - 3 weeks.

For a little better view, the plants on the right in these pics are the new plants. The plants on the left are the clones (you can ignore those).

The other pics are the grow tent set-up. I will be using no nutes, only shultz plant food 10-15-10.

All lamps are hangin except for two that are in the bottom right back corner under neath some flowering plants.

The plants are growing fast. The plants that have reached 2 1/2 weeks (haze) are taking off. The two white rhino were just transplanted yesterday. Let's see...all comments welcomed.

The water was hoping to change the bad habits of the owner, LOL. The temp outside dropped real low in my area causing the heat to come on in my house. When I got back home the temp inside with the plants was 100 degrees and the humidity was like 35. I watered all the plants and sprayed them down. They didn't punish me though. I don't reccommend spraying your plants at all unless at night before lights out. I don't even like foliar feeding.

The newly transplanted white rhinos are doing good. Sprouting fast and I expect good growth. I can usually tell right away if a plant is going to have problems by the way and speed it sprouts.

These are the three haze varieties at three weeks. They are doing good real good. Only one stretched a lil bit, but the other two are great:

The perpetual will technically be my second grow. The first was white rhino, white widow, and lemon skunk. Those are finishing now. I also have some white rhino that were planted late, so I started the perpetual so they can finish with those plants. I did all my experimentation during the first grow. Had a lot of RIU help, trust me!!! But, any questions, I will ask! Thanks!

tin foil is a very bad choice as a reflector it bounces light in all directions white is the best reflection and also should be using some compact florecents or the t5s they work great and give off better light then the cfl bulbs too

I must be on RIU punishment, cuz RIU has been crashing on me like crazy, LOL...:wall:

Here are the two newly transplanted white rhino seedlings. They are doing good. Getting their second set of leaves now. I have to fill one of the pots with a little dirt...one of the girls decided to do a little stretching. Moving her closer to the light as we speak!

DSC00304.JPGDSC00303.JPG

The three unknown haze varieties (2 weeks ahead of the rhinos) are already starting to flower. Good internodal spacing and branching. I was suprised...didn't think I would really get any real height out of these girls and, I hope they still grow a little. lol

DSC00306.JPGDSC00305.JPG
Plant #1 at 12 inches and still growing. Plant #2 at 14 inches this is the one that stretched. Let's see what she does.

DSC00307.JPGDSC00308.JPG DSC00309.JPG
Plant #3 at 15.5 inches. She is double potted. Her root growth was crazy so I double potted so I wouldn't have to transplant again. I've done this with my last grow and it worked out great.

I have seen some early signs of nute def...(all three haze plants) My potting soil mixture is calling for more phosphorus right from the 3/4th week of growth. Going to add bone meal 0-12-0 to my potting mix for any future perpetual grows. Right now going to increase feeding of my plant food shultz (10-15-10) and see if that works.

Hey jarrett, thanks for the input...

The lining is actually emergency blankets. The emergency blankets reflect light but they also help me to regulate the heat in my growing cabinet. If used on the reflective side, it will reflect light but lets little specs of light out through the crevises it has from being folded. When used on the dull side, the blankets insulate heat and help me maintain the temp in my grow box, despite the changing temp of whatever room it's in.

t5's are ok, but I believe in low watt cfl's and they have been working good for me. I would only use the t5's for clones or seedlings. With the t5's you still need some type of side lighting as I personally believe they loose their affect after 2 feet down the plant. Again, that is just my opinion though.

I like the way I can manipulate my cfl's and grow tent easily...Who know's, my next grow is suposse to be all auto flowers. Maybe I'll throw some t5's overhead and the cfl's all around the side...We'll See...Thanks for the suggestion.

Right now cfl's are the shit!!! :hump:

I am somewhat pleased with the Nirvana White Rhino. I ordered the 10 pack of regular seeds. If I remember correctly I got 4 males, 4 females, and 2 mutations of some sort. Not a bad ratio for $20/$30 worth of seeds. I have smoked the White rhino before, but I noticed during my grow that I have 2 or 3 different phenotypes. Give me about 12 days or so and I can give you an accurate smoke report from my grow. They were recently chopped and are drying/curing kind of far from where I am.

The Nirvana White Rhino I had before was good. It wasn't "harsh" to me as the Nirvana description reads. It was smooth with a real noticeable fruity/sugary type smell and flavor. It was a smooth happy type high. NOTE: I usually smoke NYC Diesel all day, so nothing is going to get me as high and satisfied as that...but, the rhino was able to get up there. I also smoke blunts, so I couldn't tell you how a bong hit tastes.

Here are a few pics of The White Rhino Harvest. (the tallest plant in the group pic is a White Widow. All else are White Rhino)

DSC00222.JPGDSC00319.JPGDSC00321.JPGDSC00018.JPGDSC00014.JPGDSC00248.JPGDSC00176.JPGDSC00104.JPGDSC00035.JPGDSC00084.JPGDSC00120.JPGDSC00302.JPG

A few pointers
The nirvana White Rhino seems to grow best (for me at least) with topping & LST + supercropping. All plants grew at least 3 feet (hard to tell when plant is LST'd) or more. A pretty easy strain to work with. Watch her ph levels. She does not like a big ph fluctuation and will show you that immediately. Other than that I think you will enjoy it! I will keep you posted on the new smoke report. Good Luck to You!!!

Hey thanks for the info. Very helpful, especially on the ph. I plan to use FFOF with a 120w LED for the two plants. I also will try to clone one for the first time. So you say the NYC Diesel is a better high? I was looking for something couchlock. I almost went with the White Widow but heard the yield is not as good.

I swear by NYC Diesel, but I am not sure who or what companies have the seed/genetics that we smoke where I am. I would probably think Soma's would be it, but I never tasted it so I don't know for sure. The NYC Diesel we have here is so strong, that I could walk past you with a gram in my sock and you will smell it as if I was smoking! CRAZY!!!!!!

I never grew White Widow from nirvana I have Seedsman, and the yield is double what the rhino will give me. The Seedsman grew to be 4 feet and a lil change. I never had any of my rhinos reach that height. Here is the Seedsman White widow:
View attachment 1297286View attachment 1297287 View attachment 1297288View attachment 1297289 These are about a month old. When I get to them this weekend i will post a more recent picture. This Widow was the sweetest smelling thing in the room. Can't wait to taste it.

Another thing, I won't talk you out of using FFOF but be very mindful of the nutrient ratio. FFOF tends to burn plants very badly if not controlled. I would suggest using 1/4 to 1/2 nutes at best until you see how your plants are going to react, and I honestly wouldn't do that until about week 4/5. I absolutely hate FFOF as I have found it to be the source of my insect problem I once had (fungus gnats, etc.)

Well, I have been a bad parent. I knew that I needed to add dirt to the stretched seedling and didn't:wall:. She has now keeled over and died! To make matters worse, one of the haze varieties has decided that she wants to become wilted and commit suicide. THIS IS NOT MY DAY!!! I will be visiting fdd FUCK.... :finger:thread shortly to vent, LOL, although I am dying inside...The damn humidity also went to 70% twice in the last two days causing mold to grow immediately in the soil of some plants (just tossed two flowering clones).

Anybody have any thought on if this plant could or should even be saved. i checked her dirt and she has no visible mold. Don't know why she decided to commit suicide on me, I treated her good, lol.
