I posted in there to give dude some perspective. He's worrying about $5-10/month when a lot of people that grow spend hundreds every month to grow (including myself). The way I see it is, if you can recoupe your cost to grow by hooking up a few friends or whatever then get whatever you want. That way your smoke is free.
If you only want to grow a plant a month for personal smoke, don't spend more on power and nutes than you would at a club on smoke in a month's time.
If you're growing for profit, get as much equipment and nutes as you can afford and borrow money to pay the bill if you have to unitl you get that first big harvest.
I've loaned a buddy money to help pay his bills whilie he was getting his first grow going and he paid me back after harvest and threw in some bud for good measure.
The shit can/will pay for itself as long as you're not a dumbass and that's a proven fact.
