First time "grower" with a question

Hi, been reading riu for month or two now just never had much to say as I am purely in the learning stage still. I was given a clone a couple of months ago (was said to be ww) it had been outside into the fall and had started flowering a bit but was only ~3" tall at the time. I really had no clue what to do with it, other than knew I had to keep light on it to get back to a veg state, which I did even though it was poor lighting at the time. Anyways, to my question. I finally got some "decent" lighting on it and it has took off in growth quite a bit over the last few weeks, while the new growth all looks great, Im wondering about the lower part. The bottom 3" of the plant has quite a few preflowers and leaves covered in trichomes however they are quite small due to the plant state when they were formed. Should I trim them off, or leave it be until I reach my desired size? I've never grown before and after many hours reading here, I haven't found an example that I can relate to my situation.

Got a little longer than I expected sorry, to sum it up... I have a 8" plant and the bottom 3" are quite developed with lots of trichomes should I trim them or leave them go? Thanks in advance.

Leave it alone, never trim things off, even if they look dead. Your plant is revegetating, eventually it will outgrow the bottom and you won't notice anything unusual.

Ok, sounds good thank you. I do have one more question regarding this plant then, its almost tripled in size over the last few weeks under 24/0 so would it be ok to take clones now? I've read a few things that seem to somewhat frown upon taking clones from a flowering plant? I'm assuming its back in veg mode as its been under constant (although weak) lighting for a month and a half now and grown so much.

flowering clones are misunderstood by alot of people based on what theyve heard most of the time, the truth is both ways have pro's and con's to be weighed. but anyway yes, go ahead and take some clones if you can and want to, bottom branches work best,

Sounds good, thanks again guys. In addition to that plant I also have 4 bagseed plants going. Once I get the grow area set up better I will get some pics and have many more questions as I go im sure lol.
