Fictionalgrower's Perpetual Micro SoG (2nd Grow)

This is my second grow (thus the title of the thread). My plan is a 16 site flowering table. 22 inches by 24, in a 4x4 arrangement. Each site holds a 32oz storage container. I have 7 plants going in the table now. The breakdown of each plant is as follows:

1 Killing Fields F2 fem seed - roughly a month old (same strain as my first grow)
1 Herijuana x Big White - Same age as the KF
5 - Bagseed from some good stuff we got from a friend. We are calling these ones K-Dog in honor of our friend we got these from.

I will continue to add one plant per week until I get to the point where I am harvesting 7-14 grams per week for personal use. I have cut some clones of the month old plants, if they root they will be in the next round on the flowering table. If these do not root I will continue growing from seed until I can get the cloning down. Since I will potentially have males having 16 spots under the light gives me some wiggle room in the 8-9 week flower cycle to always have some bud ready to go. I will start seeds in a standard party cup in my veg cab until roots are established then under the HPS.

My Idea was inspired by SmeLLyTreeZ's 12/12 from seed party cup grow. Watching this grow and then looking at other party cup grows around the 'net made me think. If folks can get 10 grams from a 16oz cup then I should reach my goal of 7-14g from 32oz "cups".

I am still using plain old Miracle Grow soil but this time I am using liquid nutes from here:

Any questions or suggestions be sure to post. Here are the first pics showing the table in use and the size of the containers

Definitely subbed.
Do you know whether the different strains have similar growth rates/habits.

It's going to take a bit of canopy control to be able to pull a plant out and replace it with a smaller plant, and not have problems with it getting shaded by its neighbours.

Awesome man I love SOG grows. What size hps you burning? Seeing grows like this almost makes me want to ask my boss if I can start coming in on Saturdays just so I can move a little sooner and set up a grow like this of my own, lol.

EDIT: Just re-read and saw you plan on adding a plant a week. Just a suggestion, have you thought about adding 2 per week? Since you have 12 spots, the first ones will be long gone by the time you get to the end, not including the males.

2 of the 3 strains I'm growing are unknown. Hopefully with 16 spaces and 8-11 weeks of flowering I will have room to play the waiting game. The Herijuana x Big White seems to be indica dominant so hopefully a shorter flower period. If the K-Dog seeds end up needing long flowering times I will exclude that strain in the following rounds.

In theory the new plants will start in the bottom right corner and end in the top left corner. In this rotation the big plants should have big neighbors and little plants should have little neighbors. We will see how this theory plays out in a few weeks lol.

It's been busy week with the holidays, work, family. My apologies for the lack of updates.

I have not added any new plants to the Micro-SoG table for this week.

Out of my 8 cuttings only one has rooted. I'm on day 9 from cutting so hopefully these others will still pop roots. Having started with 7 plants I'm not real worried about getting the next rounds in just yet. The clone that has shown roots was put in a 16oz party cup today and will remain there to establish a root system until day 14 when she will be put in a 32oz container and under the HPS.

I had a surprise fire inspection of my home last week so everything had to be tore down and hidden. Because of this I no longer have mylar on the walls in my flower room.

We have a few more hours until lights come on in the flower room so I will update pics of those this evening. Until then enjoy a pic of my sad little veg cab lol.

Looking good fictional, So your vegging the clones for a few weeks before you transplant them and put them into flowering?

I'm looking at one week veg for each clone after showing roots. I just want to make sure they are strong enough to handle the HPS. I'm still trying to get the cloning process mastered where I can consistently produce rooted clones to go into flower on a weekly / bi-weekly basis.

This will be a learning experience for me but I will document for others to learn with me.

FG, exactly how do you go about rooting your clones - hopefully one of us may be able to give you some pointers to improve the strike rate a little.

Here is what I did, I cut 8 tops off of my girls. I cut all of them at 45 degree angle and then scraped up the "skin" a little before dipping them in rootech cloning gel. I then placed the cuttings in rockwool cubes that I had soaked for a few in 5.5 PH'd water. I then put them in my veg cab in a flower tray with the clear 32.oz containers over them as a dome. The "domes" have 5 small holes in the bottom so air can get in but most of the moisture/humidity stays in the dome with the cuttings. I spray them with a mist of PH'd water a few times a day or when they look shriveled.

I do know that "tops" don't root as well as side branches, but other than that I can't fault what you are doing.
I stick my cuttings into Jiffy pellets, use a single humidity dome over all together and don't spray them, but what you are doing shuld be working - maybe just needs a little longer as you are using "tops" and not side branches.

I like your "sog frame", hopefully you'll get great results.

I've just sprouted a couple of Barney's Farm LSD and I'm thinking of trying a 9 pot hempy SOG - I need to grow the 2 plants for a while before I can take a dozen cuttings (9 for the SOG and 3 for seed making).
