IYO - Top four mother plants

I'm changing my setup from a perpetual grow (clone to veg to flower with no mothers). After some research I have decided that it would be much better to keep four mother plants to cut clones from. If I ever lose power I'd still have my mothers, plus trying to time moving my clones to veg and my veg to flower is really tricky.

So, I've got a hydro setup but I'm going to keep the mothers in soil.

A couple questions:
1. How big will my mothers get if they are always kept in a veg state? I can either give them 3 - 4 ft of headroom or 5 - 6 ft if needed (but not preferred).

2. If you were stuck on an island and could only bring your four favorite strains with you, what would they be?

This is what I'm thinking:
BlackBerry Kush (Grew this one and absolutely loved it for my chronic back pain, depression/anxiety, and fibromyalgia)

Chemdawg (Never had this but from what I read, this is a must-have)

Super Silver Haze (Grew this one. Don't care for the lemon/pine smell, but man is this stuff potent)

Original Blueberry (Read lots about this but have only had NL#5 x Blueberry)

Other considerations:
Northern Lights
Romulan
Super Lemon Haze
Shishkaberry
Jack Herer
Arjan's Haze
The Purps

I smoke/vape medically so I want one to be a high-CBD strain. Right now I'm using Mazar for that. It's heavy but it does the trick. I think the Blackberry Kush was more effective though.

I would like to have a good creative strain, hallucinatory strain, and a high-energy strain to go with my high-CBD strain.

So, everyone chime in with your experiences and faves.

high CBD strain... check out Positronics "Blue Rhino" you can get them from the Attitude.... they used to list the CBD count but for some reason they don't anymore. it has the highest CBD count of any strains I have looked up. I wish I could grow it but I have to be picky about the strains i grow due to the high humidity in my area of the country.

I've got humidity issues as well. All the buds from my sweet pink grapefruit rotted because I turned the light off 36 hours before harvesting instead of my regular 24. My mazar handled it but my SPG couldn't hang. I'm in the Northwest so it's something I have to keep on top of.

as of right now .... Sweet Seeds- Cream Caramel is a must have for me. High CBD/CBN delicious buds, nice producer.
I haven't grown enough to say what i would want to keep for good. but Cream Caramel for sure
TGA- Jack's Cleaner is amazing
I would imagine Serious- White Russian would be a keeper although i haven't grown it yet....... Way too much quality out there to pick just four

I hear ya. Seems like new strains show up daily and it's hard to keep up with them all. It may be easier to stick with the established strains. But, as U.S. consumers we always want the latest and greatest and it's difficult not to get excited about a new strain that's supposed to be "better than anything out there". I am finding, however, that potency in new strains isn't really any different than many other strains developed over the past few years, so I'm leaning towards strains that have had years of good reviews, like Blueberry, Super Silver Haze, Northern Lights, Shishkaberry, Jack Herer, Chemdog, etc...

I've never had chemdog but reading all the articles about it makes me enthusiastic about trying it. But how different is this from what I've already been smoking? I mean, is there any strain out there that stands out so much that it's considered unique? Is it something that gives you a high so distinct that you could pick it out of a blindfold test? Are there any strains out there like this? Maybe Jack Herer (can't read enough about this), or AK47/48, or Sour Diesel, etc...

If there are strains out there that stand out above the rest (even with all of the new crosses coming out), then I would like to pick four of them to keep.

Shishkaberry, LUI < Legends Ultimate Indica, God Bud are all high yielding, high CBD strains. Your haze's and jack's are more daytime smokes so keep that in mind. To me highs haven't changed much in the past 10 yrs of me growing but what has is there are more and more unique flavors and that has a lot to do with personal preference so figure out what you like flavor wise and you can narrow your list from there. But all the strains you listed in your last post are top quality and have a different flavor from the rest so start with those.
