Howdy.

I planted two seedlings on the 21st of November. They both sprouted at the same time around the 25th of November.

They both are Northern Lights from Nirvana from the same package, used the same soil from the same bag, have received the same watering regimen and same lighting etc.

One sprouted out ok, but the other looks like chit. It is much smaller, shrivled up, and has brown spots on it.

Any ideas what this is about?

If you've givin it no nutes or anything but water then id say you got problem beans or crappy genes. WHat soil you using?

lol...

Nirvana Genetics.
Distilled Water.
Miracle Grow.
Sending pictures of germinated Marijuana plants...

1) Nirvana's genetic pool has been under quite a bit of scrutiny as of late. Many growers are having issues with their cheap seeds. You get what you pay for here.
2) Distilled water is not good for plants. Switch to Reverse Osmosis filtered water immediately if your tap water is unusable.
3) Miracle Grow is probably the worst soil to select for Cannabis. The Rose Potting soil, or the Orchid Potting soil, are good choices because they were formulated with finicky flowering plants in mind. The Organic Choice Potting Soil will work alright as well but is better suited to vegetables. The Moisture Control with Time Released Fertilizers Potting soil is going to give you nothing but problems as the fertilizers dissolve and become available to the plant. Despite the mass of new growers that use Miracle Grow their first time around very few second or third time growers use Miracle grow. Some people do have limited success so I suggest you seek them out for advice on how to treat your soil.
4) It is Federally illegal to germinate a Cannabis seed in the US regardless of your Med MJ status and this will force Nirvana to completely ignore you.

All of this information is readily available to you if you look for it. You need to stop this whole Shoot First and Ask Later attitude. It's not going to get you far in this grow.

You have an excellent resource of experience and wisdom here. Take advantage of that :) Educate yourself as well. Your next problem is going to be pH related so you're going to want to invest in a tester.

Thanks for all the info.

The problem is obviously a bad seed. Has nothing to do with soil, water or pH problems.

The info on talking to Nirvana about my seed, rookie mistake obviously.

I dont see were it is obviously its a bad seed. Looks nuked too me. Maybe its right on middle of a hotspot in the soil. Very possible with miracle grow, or any other precharge medium, far as that goes.

I got an amnesia haze seed that did the same thing...grew a few leaves and then shriveled up and died....Had almost no roots...so something was wrong with it...
