Is this your first grow?? id go soilless mix like "sunshine mix #4" or "pro mix" using a soilless mix and some simple pots will be alot easyer then trying an "active" hydro system for the first time......a 1000w will KICK ass in a tent that small you will have VERY good light penetration thats for sure....If you can keep it cooll enough that light will rock!! your tent is pretty narrow i would do 6 plants in 3gallon pots.....two rows of 3 plants under your one light that would be what i do......Using the soilless mix is not messy really.....I put an inch layer of clay leca on the top of my soil to keep any soiless mix from falling out onto the floor...

soilless mix is STILL HYDRO is just a "passive" hydro meaning you water by hand......its NOT soil its SOILLESS this will be the easyest most simple way to start out..... With that big a light and 6 plants you should be able to yield over a pound id say if you get your shit on point

Still needs daily checks and maintenance, so either way, you gotta be there, its a matter of how long, id go 4 pot, top feed to recycle, best advice i will give from experience, ive seen it first hand, check your tent manufacturers specs, it will be 600w hps, 1000w are so intense it kills your tent, the mylar lining starts peeling off, the stiching and zips give way, its just to much heat and intense light. All your other equipment is mickey mouse, perfect.

watering by hand is actually easyer then running a active hydro system.......so you think your making it easyer but your really doing it the more complicated way....I only water once ever 3-4 days and i spend about an hour total doing this.....All my friends that run attactive hydro like you want spend more time f*cking with there grow then me no doubt on that one......It might be less bending over but its just as much work if not more.....

I run a 1000w in a cheap tent and the light does nothing to destroy the tent.......now it does ripp from being man handled and it is a cheap piece of crap but the intensity of the light does nothing to harm the tent what so ever

id go with a 600w max a 400 would work just fine with the right hood you are going to spend way to much to power with the 1000 plus cooling. i run a 2x4x4 with cooltube 400w hps and i get atleast a gram/w for 35bucks a month. just a little thing to think about.

I dont have one but willing to get one
get one. get two. dont even do woil without one. after i mix FF the brew is Ph 4.2! locking out most of the goodness im putting in there anyways!!!

pwesonally i think 1000w is too much...but thats my opinion. i run a 1000w in a 4x4 and its almost too much.

ive seen Homebox and eziTent both be destroyed within one grow ( roughly 3 months ) all the silver mylar was fooked and started to peel off, both the Homebox and eziTents door zippers broke and numerous parts of the stitching gave way. Its totally your choice to go ahead, i personally wouldnt, 1000w in such a confined space is a fire waiting to happen.

i have a 1000 in a 4x4 also, and my temp is always 70 on time, but im talking about being efficient. sometimes you can call bright enough bright enough, ya know? i think a 600 or even a 400 in a 2x4 would be fine, but to each their own.

man if u got a 1000watt system u should just go get a 4x4 tent grow one time and ur set for the year. but i think thats to much for a small tent think of ur light bill. i dont want to see u on the news,"Next on the news at ten, man house burns down due to a 1000hps in a small tent"?

1000w should not be too hot in that tent that is what i use. Keep it far enough away from the top of the plants. For your system suggestions I use two rubbermaid roughnecks with 3" net pots inserted. DWC.
