yea alot of people that i know hang dry then when it gets to dry they bag it up in a plastic bag to get some moisture back in the buds then re-hang and keep repeating till its time to cure..thats how i was taught and its always worked but im not the greatest grower, dryer, curer guy lol

look at the video on page 2 posted by trichlone fiend..they also do that in that video and it seems like a old video and my boy who taught me that way of drying is 38 so he's kind of an OG..it might be an old method but thats how i do it

That video completely skips anything with jars. However, I guess the bag and jar part serve the same purpose. So you can choose to cure with with the paperbag or jars after drying?

paperbags are for drying, plastic bags are for curing (if you have too much for glass jars to be economical).

Oh? How are paper bags for drying? Aren't you rolling them up and then unrolling them every once in a while for the paper bag? What the difference between the paper and plastic bag, like why is one for drying and the other curing?

paper bags wick the moisture from the buds (draw it out). It is sort of like drying and curing at the same time, or an intermediary step between drying and curing. plastic bags (i.e. garbage bags) are for curing when you have too many buds and not enough glass jars (after the buds have been dried in the air or paper bags). paper bags breathe (as well as wick moisture) but plastic bags do not breathe or wick if tied off tight.

Are My friends and I Just Fucking Crazy? We Find We Really Like Super Lemon Haze Dried as fast as it can be (about 5-7 days) .....It seems to lock in a nice fruity flavor I don't get from a long Cure ..But it seems to go against conventional wisdom (not saying it's right wisdom) That the longer the cure the better the taste.....That statement doesn't hold water all the time

My Plants get hung stem and all at room temp for a day or 2 depending on how lazy I am ...Then gets nipped down to it's smallest possible buds (mold check and prevention) Off the stems and gets put on a tray for another day or two ...Then after that sealed Into glass mason jars for a full day before they get the first 1 hour burp ...After that burp I can start Puffing on them ..As I Puff and Goes into my Jar it gets drier and drier

Pretty sure that is how my first plant I just harvested will get dried/cured, regardless if it is a good thing or not.

Okay cool, so should I keep the paper bag closed or leave it open? That's interesting with the texture I guess it makes sense though. The paper bag would absorb a little mositure but it would still stay relatively humid. Would dry slower.

Yeah i'm just a bit of a perfectionist haha. Yeah I checked it out that was an interesting way to do it. I just don't want to mess up my harvest. Oh really? Yours to well good luck man. Let me know how things turn out. Interesting though that thread says it's better to overdry than have more mositure.

u can tell when its to moist..open the bag if it gets to moist but i might do what that one guy posted..
shred up paper bags and just do layers upon layers
lots of people dry and cure there own ways
its really up to how fast the buds are drying..curing is simple

Plastic retains smells and could be a problem if you reuse them, glass doesnt hold smells and can be sterilized if desired.

Hey, thanks a lot Cali you've been a lot of help dude. Appreciate the input...sorry I asked so much, I just like to do things like right. One more thing though, when your zooming in on the trichomes what magnification do you use? And I see most people break some bud off before looking, can I just leave it on the plant while I view the trichomes?

its all good bro no problem..i dont use a magnify glass to scope my trichs though, i can tell just by looking at it or sometimes i take pics with my camera and look at it through my PS3..and i personally would never break a bud off just to look at the trichs
