I heard something about soaking my clay rocks in bleach then rinsing. Does anyone else have suggestions on cleaning clay rocks for reuse.

boil the rocks. edstgreads- why do you say ph4?
PH4 or lower will kill off any parasites, diseases etc that may be present in the rocks.. it will leave your medium sterile & ready for your next grow. Remember to rinse off with normal water before you use it in your grow..

no need to complicate the process. just use plain water to rinse the roots off. if you sterilize you can say goodbye to your beneficials. the only time you should do this is if you get some nasties jumpin' off.....then just use hydrogen peroxide.

you can use greatly diluted bleach but make sure you rinse them thoroughly but you don't need to bleach the hydroton (unless you have mold/fungus/root rot problems. very, very hot (boiling) water will clean them. and if you are concerned you can use hydrogen peroxide and/or one of the nutrient rinsing/guard solutions (like FloraShield of FloraKleen).
