any1 ever use 5gal buckets for an outdoor grow? im thinking about it because i rly dont want any 7/8 ft monsters this year lol.
also, has any1 ever just droped 40 bag seeds in2 a hole and let them all go ? how effective is this.
Check out my 5-gallon, outdoor bucket grow from last year. I got 7 foot + tall plants (Sour Diesel and G13/Haze).
Biggest thing to remember: drill holes in the bottom of the buckets for drainage, and water the plants OFTEN during the middle of summer.
Buckets dry out really fast, especially during the summer, as the plastic gets real hot. It's fine as long as you can water every 3 days at least.
You can plant your two seeds per bucket no problem. I did that. Just make sure when you put two seeds per bucket, to evenly space out the seeds, and to not put them too far to one side of the bucket.
Don't put two seeds right next to each other in one hole.
Don't be
THAT lazy that you don't at least space two little 1-inch holes equally apart in the bucket for each of the two seeds.
1 seed per hole.
Trust me, you'll save yourself some trouble when you wanna get rid of whichever is the weaker seedling.
This way, whichever seedling you pull will give the other plant the appropriate amount of room on the side to grow lateral roots without much restriction.
