If I am using net pots with hydroton balls, can my plants just grow roots in that? Or do I have to use rockwool/rapid rooter plugs surrounded by the hydroton?
GEE WHIZ! What do you use to keep the plants stable when starting them off?Yes, roots do grow when using hydrotron.
No Rockwool/rooterplug here.
Wait, sorry man, I mean... since you said "No Rockwool/rooterplug".. what is used to keep the plants up. You just stick them down in the hydroton? I was meaning stable as in how the plant is standing up in the hydroton balls with nothing else when they start.Huh?
Stable how?
These are teens and clones in custom dwc chilltubs. Tap water and ph down. Nutes at 250ppm
Yes, you can if you wish.If I am using net pots with hydroton balls, can my plants just grow roots in that? Or do I have to use rockwool/rapid rooter plugs surrounded by the hydroton?
I do the same thing Bloomer in the dome tray I let them veg for a couple weeks until roots drink water ..Heres how.
From seed or clone. See the tray in the back? I let em get a bit tall. Then when I place them in net pots I make sure the roots are at the bottom of the net pot. Full carefully with hydrotron and bingo!
NO ROCKWOOL.
NO PLUGS.
Less maintence I say .. I had a mother in DWC and it was annoying having to go back and do a res change on her after you just finished your other plants..Thanks for all the new info, everyone.
Boomer- Are your mothers in dirt for less maintenance? I had thought about doing this but couldn't come up with a good reason besides the fact that I want to have them on the top shelf in my closet and didn't really want to mess with buckets/tubs/coolers of water that high.
