Health Care

I'm not dictating, I'm stating a moral stance. You're a very confused individual Vi... very politico, and therefore you have a one track mind (in this respect, i feel i must add). I have no political leanings, I just believe in doing what is right.

I see no slavery in my country that isn't in yours, nor do I see any in the rest of Europe or Canada.

A health care system is not socialism... that's like saying the fire service is socialism and a desent into slavery too.

Should you have to pay for the misfortune of fire too?
Your out there guy! Have you ever taken a solid stance on any position, or is it always platitudes with you.

More like shoot from the lip. A lot of weaklings prefer that technique. Your good, your real good!

PS- you don't even read the links you post??
Ordinarily, I don't post links. You posted one so i just googled health care us and cut n pasted 3 links.

Then I made the point at how big of a deal health care is in the US at the moment due to the impending elections.

I'm always stoned, sometimes not everything in my head makes it to the page.

Well that's great ... and I'd be the very first to compliment you on helping someone as well. Just don't try to dictate to me, using the force of the State, that I also MUST help someone. Doing so is not compassion at all ... it is slavery.

So Vi, if you had to shell out....oh IDK let's say $5 a paycheck so that EVERYBODY....yourself included.... got free health care, you wouldn't be cool with that?

I bet even you, Earnie, already pay more than $5 dollars a paycheck for illegals health care/government fraud. With "free" health care expect to begin to pay 50-70% of your paycheck.

OK so maybe I'm just ignorant to how all of this shit works. I DO know that Canada has free health care for it's citizens.........how the hell do they do it?

Canada has socialized medicine and America has an over regulated pharmaceutics industry. Many Canadians come to America for surgeries, and just as many American citizens order prescriptions from Canada. The market forces at play. Government intervention only slows things down and increases the costs.

Why does everything have to be so damn complicated????? Why can't ALL countries do the same shit and just provide free healthcare to it's citizens?

"Free" is really never "free". Lets start there.
Well now I DO understand that. What I'm saying is why the hell can't we just do what I proposed earlier? I mean the cops and fire department are "free" so to speak. I know my taxes pays these people salaries, but when they render their services I don't get a bill in the mail, nor do I have to pay a deductible to get these services. Soooooo.........why couldn't we just adopt this into the healthcare system? If doctors didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for med school, and didn't have to hire all of the extra workers to do battle with the insurance companies, could this system work for us?

so, there is the problem...money
what about teachers? teachers today have to at least a masters degree and they average $ 36,000 a year....teachers are at least as important as doctors...

sorry i have to disagree with this, regular teacher in K-12th only need to have have a bachelor's degree. any more like masters or phd is optional. Teacher's also get full benefits, plus 3 months of the year off.

doctors have minimum 2-4 yrs college + 4yrs med + 2-10yrs residency and specialization. Teachers make more money than most residents.

To answer a few questions that have been asked of me and questions in general:

Each American worker has extracted from his/her wages about 50% of their total income. This takes into account Federal and State income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, gasoline taxes, fuel taxes, surtaxes on communication services, i.e., cell phones, Internet connections, fees, fines, etc., and the hundreds of hidden taxes. At the last accounting, there were 127 hidden taxes on a loaf of bread. I haven't even counted into that 50% the hidden tax of inflation either. Don't want to because it just becomes to damned scary.

I can only assume that for most of you who post in this forum that 50% economic enslavement isn't enough for you. Otherwise, why would you want to hand over to the federal government another SEVEN PERCENT OF OUR GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT CALLED HEALTH CARE?

Has it ever occurred to you liberals that in the 1960s almost every household had a wife AT HOME every day? That's right ... they were called "Housewives." Children had a loving parent to come home to every day after school. Children were ACCOUNTABLE to someone from the time they woke up in the morning until the time they went to bed at night. What a concept! Why isn't that so today? Could it be because it takes one worker to pay for the basic necessities of life; food, clothing and housing, and the other worker to pay for the taxes, including staying ahead of inflation, which is nothing more than another hidden tax?

This is not about "compassion," "It takes a village," or "The Common Good." Its about the survival of liberty and freedom.

Come on guyz ... THINK!

Exactly Vi', and what is the model or driving force behind this high taxation? Greed... Where does all the money go that you pay out already?

I'm no expert and I know taxation is high in my country but i'm sure we don't get taxed as badly as you do. So if we get taxed less or close to the same how is it that our government can also afford to take care of the people?

Politics is very flawed in my opinion, as once you class yourself as a conservative or liberal then this means you are charging yourself with certain obligatory attitudes. You move away from the reality of the self.

A government is merely a representation of the people, yet we are not adequately represented. Instead we are forced to think certain ways. No matter which newspaper you read you will be left with a biased opinion, much like mine when I watched 'sicko'. I was so disgusted by what I saw that I had to put it in a thread. Maybe the wrong section for it (shoulda went in 'spirituality') but I thought I might get some answers.

I have received none. The thoughts of peoples lives lost amidst the shout and screams of the far right.

in my state there is a career ladder deal for teachers k-12 and they have to have or be working on their masters...and they do not get 3 months off any more...school ends in june here and teachers have to report august 3rd...and the full benefits, my brother teaches 11-12 grade math and he pays $600. a month for insurance...

michael moore was right and "they" know he is right...one of the problems is our president went to saudi arabia, one of the richest countries in the world and gave them 20 billion $$ of aid...I would rather be the president that provided the citizens with free healthcare than the president that spent trillions for these wars...

No, "they" know Michael Moore is a liar and a propagandist.

Vi
like most things, he was half right and half propogandist. The problem is this site is full of extremist who want it one way or another, when the truth is usually somewhere in between.
