i have had to run my lights at night because day temp were close to 100*, it was the only thing i could do that saved my crop besides a ac unit which i couldnt afford

I learned the hard way that you cant run a 400W without good ventilation. It just gets too hot. Go to a junk yard or some where to get used industrial supplies and pick up a squirrel cage fan and a fan controller. I had massive heat problems in my tent till I got that fan. Since Ive gotten it Ive added an extra 412 true watts of CFLs. But I still think PH is a major issue for you judging by the few leaves that I saw.

Thanks dude, I think you could be right. Although I personally find that nute burn shows slightly differently, but with the extra heat it could look different I suppose. So you could be right.

ya i agree, the yellowing looks a little different then nute burn, but mayb its beyond that cuz of the heat stress like you say ya.. as long as it isnt spreading thats a good thing.. then i would cancel out the nute burn.. nute burn always seems to spread unless you can control it right away.. but again im a newb so that could be totally wrong and just an assumption from an observation.

bro, where are you living?? in HELL!. Fuck thats hot in there and is the cause of all your problems. Do what ever you have to do cool it to optimum temp of 80 or as closeas u can to it. Open it up,blow half a dozen osc fans in there (they use little power)exhaust that bloody furnace or they'll be more than crispy ,they'll be sizzled.

heat stress all the way, keep lights 18" from tops, pot can easily take 90* but water and wind must be presant, make sure they need no water, and add a osilating fan to blow the tops of the plants, even add a fan to blow on the light its self if its not vented, get a portable ac unit from the pawnshop that goes in the window,

running ac adds humidity so keep a eye on your RH

Only if ac motor is exh inside,otherwise ac drys the air.

That's what I'm talking about! Not sure I agree w/ home made, but pump some CO2 in there and your girls will happily take hotter temps.

yes i believe it's from the plant wilting from being too hot. One of my plants wilted earlier cuz I got lazy and didn't water yesterday. They will start to eat up some of the lower growth first and perk up after they are watered. When dealing with high temps I generally watered every other day, might be different for you.

How would the co2 solve my heat prob But yes I do want to add co2, as soon as I got this prob under controll. Thanks

Thanks to everyone I have made major improvements.

1) Switched my light cycle to be on at night when the ambient temps are lower.

2) Moved my hps ballast to outside my flower room This was my brilliant idea

3) Sealed my extractor outlet to where it goes into the vent to eliminate hot air blowing back.

4) Opened the somewhat blocked airvent to the outside world (never realised it was slightly blocked)

I have two fan's running and a commercial extractor fan. The only internal heat source is now one 400w HPS bulb.

I did consider a AC but after working out the electricity cost it was clear it won't be a option.

Thanks so much to all your guy's help. I will post a further update in a couple of days to give the temp results after the change.

with even homemeade co2 you can run the room at 85 to 90 for rapid growth try the homemade it works and last me 2 to 3 weeks better yields as well

I have now been running with the above improvements for 48 hours and the results are impressive.

Previously my max temp was hitting 95 degrees Fahrenheit!!!

******Now my max temps are 82.4 degrees Farenheit!!!***********

I am obviously very pleased, but at the same time pissed off that I did not do this sooner. I have had quite a bit of damage to my crops, but not all is lost.

To explain I run the one 400W covering a 1 X 2 meter tray with 18 plants in there. The 18 plants are 3 groups of 6 plants, all with aprox 2 to 3 weeks between them harvest time wise. In other words I harvest 6 plants every 3 weeks, and I have a veg room and with cloning I keep up the supply for my flower room. I have been hitting about half a gram per watt, ie aprox 200g harvest per tray on avg.

I have on one or two plants in the flower room that prob lost 70% of the potential harvest weight because of this heat problem, so for the others here, take my advise know that when you see the problem, it is already to late. Nice advice, I know lol

I need advice on the home made CO2 moodster suggested. I have found the post in a sticky on one of the forum links. The problem I have is that I can't find the double bubble plastic thing you need.
