Nobody can answer this correctly he didn't say what kind of soil they are in . In my soil I transplant seedlings from a party cup to a 1 gallon pot they get no nutes for atleast 2 weeks . The nutrient in the soil is enough for young plants forming new root structures .

plants grow leaf matter with lights on and root grow during light off, i never run light 24/0 its a waste of power and plants need time to rest

the tip burn is from clorine its pretty normal but seriously dude quit giving the plant water you are going to rot the damn thing, let the soil first few inches dry out before you give it any more water/nutes

rofl. anyone who says pot plants don't grow roots when the lights are on is just spouting crap they have read and have no idea if it's true or not. The reality is that marijuana is part of a category of plants that DO NOT NEED DARK! This is well documented, and isn't really something still open to debate, biologists have known it for longer than you've been alive :) Most of these people simply can't keep up with plants that grow this fast, because they really don't understand what they are doing, they just do what other people tell them is the "best". As a result, their plants suck and they blame the light.

A properly cared for marijuana plant (meaning all bottlenecks are taken care of) under 24/0 will not only grow above ground faster, but will also grow faster below ground than any other light schedule, that's simply how this plant works :)

edit: This is probably the best thread I've seen explain it, no need to reinvent wheels :) https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/292985-24-0-vs-18-6-a-3.html#post3666786

I wish I could give LT1RX7 Drifter negative rep :(

that make sense if roots will not develop with leafs plant will collapse, because there would be more weight on top and no support on a bottom.

i did not ignore gobbly comment, i agree with it, if roots would not develop as fast as leaves plant would be laying on a ground, instead of standing up.

Some people say that a good time to go to flowering stage is 4 weeks, but how big should the plant be. my plants are 2 weeks old and i don't see them growing that quickly. when is a good time to go to flowering stage?

the first few weeks are really slow..its really getting their roots settled...the next few weeks you will see more foliage growth...

the month thing is more for clones

normally from seed you need 45-60 days..that is if youre looking for full potential of the plant

:) every strain is completely different. I just put a plant to flower that vegged for 4 months and the thing never got more than 20" tall (and as bushy and dense as anything I've seen). Another strain I vegged for 3 weeks and it ended up 4 feet tall and precipitated a move to a larger flower room. Then again the one that got to 4 feet has a warning from the breeder to not veg longer than 3-4 weeks unless you want serious trees... Hehe, anyway, I suggest vegging for size, not a specific time. Also you really want to veg at least till you see alternating nodes, this will guarantee you have hit maturity and it can flower.

hehe, I guess you could look at it that way. Another thought is how all these people who say roots don't grow when the plant is getting light also will tell you to light clones 24/0... when would root development be more important than when cloning? And why would light stop planted root growth, but still let your clones root? lol, the whole thing is so chock full of misinformation and people thinking their plants are people (anthropomorphizing), all you can do sometimes is laugh :)
