so a uh a friend of mine is cloning to find sex of bagseed, but wants to find out, if he needs a root stimulator solution to soak the grow plugs in, like is that absolutely necessary?

should he saturate his grow plugs in 5.5 ph water, (this is for soil)?

I know I'm asking annoying nub questions, and everything will probably turn out fine, but I just want some reassurance, and also does anyone have any experience with "grow plugs" ?

you don't soak the root plugs in the root stim... you dip the 45 degree cut clones into the stimulator than into the root cubes.
You will need a humidity dome or plastic bags, razorblade, and a spray bottle. just mist the plants 1 to 2 times per day. it might be tempting to do it more......DONT you will actually do them more harm that way.

I simply take the clones off plant 2- inches or longer. make sure its from the lower part of the plant...then take the cutling and cut them at 45'angle under water in a bowl or cup then dip into rooting gel...then i place the stem into the hole( in ur case the plug) which i placed gel into to speed things up(imo) i put them in a humidity dome but if you are low on dough u can saran wrap solos use a rubber band..place ontop of heating pad/...under cfl!...root away!!

no I got everything I need, no need to go ghetto, (but nice tip using the party cups) i got a nice propagation package, its a nice dome with vents, and 72 cell tray, a packet of clonex, and seedling heat mat.

I'm just wondering if I need to go out and get a root stimulant solution, to soak the plugs in, or if just regular water would do it, and if it has to be 5.5 ph?

you know what i do? take a glass of water ph'd so its in the right range and then take a cutting, re-cut it underwater, and then keep it in indirect light for 18+ hrs a day. 2-3 weeks later and they are usually developing roots and ready to go into the grow medium.

The answer is no, you don't NEED to soak it root stimulator solution, ph'd water is fine. It might help a little but isn't required. If you use a gel to dip in fist your especially gtg. You can use nothing but plain water and it will still work. =)

Yup Yup thats how I do mine too. I just stick em in cups of tap water ph'd to 6.8
Heres a pic of one of mine a week after being cut.
All the other ones are only a couple days old so they've got a bit longer before rooting.

that almost guarantees successful clones.
Rooting gel helps tons too.

I seen a guy take a cutting and put it directly into his medium rockwool ect. water and cover and mist with water and they rooted just fine. but hey for a few $ rapid rooters and a small container of roting get is a small price to pay for good fast rooted clones.

Agree'd RR's give you nearly 100% success if you dont over mist and work in about a week.
