well let me first start off by saying HELP!!!!! some of my girls are starting to take a turn for the worst. i'm at day 17 in 12/12. i'm noticing some of my plants leaves starting with the bottom are turning yellow and have dead spots on them. they are dry and falling off, some are curling up. i'm growing in coco and using hesi coco at the recommended dose and the ph is at 6.15-6.2. what is the problem? should i flush and use 1/4 strengh nutes? i need some advise quickly, as it seems this is happening pretty fast. here are a few pics on 1 of the plants.

you might move your ph up to like 6.2-6.4 (thats what mine is and i'm in day 19 of flowering)

also, dead leaves are normal in the lower branches, but if your upper leaves start to die, then you might have yourself a little problem

good luck..hope i could help

appears to be a potassium deficiency or possibley a manganese deficiency not too sure o_o? thats just what the book appears to say :O

well at this stage in the grow, its assumed that the deficiency is caused by salt build up, the roots are locking out the nutes, a simple flush would fix that, than add yr nutes.

they want just a little nitrogen. that's 101a nitrogen deficency. the plants budding, it still needs a little nitrogen. you've only been feeding her bloom. she is using up her own nitro. classic example, starting at the bottom with the lower fan leaves, during the heavy onset of flowering. give her a very tiny dose, then wait THREE days. you will see the leaves turn green again. BUT to much and your buds will stretch. so just a little then wait. mine take 3 days to turn back to green.

like I had said, if it is a deficiency, you need to add something... obviously.

I know that it is hard to tell the difference between over ferting and deficiencies but if there IS a nutrient DEFICIENCY you dont need to flush.

the yellowing is being caused by a nitro deficiency, also can see dark spots on the leaves too and tips curling, you probably also have purple/red stems, you need a total n-p-k nute and to feed it nutes, by all means flush it first always a good start and then begin feeding with a total n-p-k nute and also try and add the micronutrients and it will all clear up.

actually thats the same fuckin problem i had and i DID need a flush. salt build up/lockout was the problem.i was trying to correct it by just adding more fert and was so fuckin mad when they kept getting worse and not better then i flushed, added my 3 part blend, and low and behold 4 days after feeding they were back to looking great. just make sure your nutes are blended nicely all around. hell i flush once to twice a month even iff they dont need it they seem to love it and i never have anymore nute problems. just my $0.02.

sometime whenyou super overdo it without completely (or eveobviously ) burinig up the plant you can get as video had said a lock out pretty much it means way to much crap fro the roots to take what they want so if you have beeen maxing out your veg nutes when you swithch to flower the buildup of nutes or saltz is excessive so you flush ( in never go 3:1 flush i like 1:1) so you can start with fresh clean grow medium and rule out nute lock. nute lock becomes worse when you throw more nutes at it, especially wehn its bad.

but if you switch to bloom and dont add a compliment (not a supplement)of grow with your bloom then where is the plant going to obtainnitrogen from in the last 60% of its life cycle??? remember there is a balance that must be maintained and most pl fall flaqt throu flowering even if they master veg. its a transitional thing yin and yang type of shit.

ok, so i'm going to flush with plain ph water, no nutes. what ph should i use to flush? like i said i'm growing in 3 to 1 ratio of coco to foxfarm ocean forest. i'm using hesi coco for my fert. and it's a 1 part fert, add 30 ml to 2.5 gl in veg and in flower you add 50 ml to 2.5 gl of the same fert. then at week 4 you also add the pk 13/14. but i think i'm using too much fert, i was adding the foxfarm open sesame and some liquid karma, i think i over did it. just need to know what ph to have my water at.

im not sure about your water supply but mine is fuckin impossible to ph balance. soil 6.5 has worked for me for nutes so if you attempt water i would figure the same thing but like i said i never bother just give then at least 10% run off once of twice a month and they should be good

The problem of overferting is obvious when you look at your situation. Your medium is 3/4 soil, and a good soil, too. Then you are adding a lot of nutes, and I believe that you are using hydro nutes. (made by canna?)

Hydro nutes are fine to use with soil, but at much smaller doses, and not as often, like every 3rd watering.

HTH

yeah im testing on some to see how far i can push it ill post my findings. anyways im also using hydro nutes and the key IS moderation like potroast said. when i first started using them i almost smoked a few with the directions on the side of bottle. i water once every two days flushing evey 2-6 feedings. do you have money for ppm meter their invaluable if u can afford one.
