Just trying to help...but yeah with tap jacks will kick ass....get some cal mag to be safe

Namaste':leaf:
Right on Lumi, Appreciate all the help I can get. Ordered my Jacks today as a matter a fact. Probably about a week I would guess. This will definately work out better because of the whole hard water thing.

I add an Epsom Tea to help with the cal/mag issue on a strain. 1 Tbsp. Epsom Salt dissolved in a pint of Hot water, then poured into a gallon of water. Then I use 1 or 2 tsp. with the Jack's. Good & cheap

I think since we make it rain as our water feed method that more nutrients are required as the medium is both flushed and waterlogged when we add our nutes they are diluted... i have found that I have to feed in the last gallon or deficiencies
rear their ugly heads...so we should up the nutes ...I will try a 25% increase next feed although I am quite high on the feeding so crossed fingers that I dont burn 'em

Namaste':leaf:
I have done the same thing with my feeding schedule. I have to get away from my fear of feeding them. I know that is what the prob is in flower with the chlorosis starting in the second week of flower.

Thanks for the link brother! Just tryin to do the best I can with what I got. It's on the wish list though!

You fellers are on the right track. Often I have said feed/water/water. You guys are past that. Its time to feed and read. If you go overboard make it rain. Dont be afraid to feed. You both must have a grasp on how you medium feeds. No more excuses! LOL Includes you too Dan..........
EDIT: For the next few weeks I am Going to be the Rex Ryan in this thread. Ony difference, we will get results!!!!!!!

Lets go brother, I need me some more learnin. Bad thing is I'm switching up my medium and going with the Fertilome brand. Its a peat based mix. http://fertilomesoils.com/ultimate_potting.html. This is the one I had ya look at before CL.

I went from 'rain' then 25%; to 'rain' then 50%, to 'rain' & 25% then 75%. So rain & feed ; to straight feeding every-time. You're right though, I need to be less worried/scared of over-doing it. This making it rain of RM3's is kinda throwing me off. Now after the up-canning I'll go to 100% for sure then we head to 150% to 200% with after 'rain' & nute maybe adding a Fish Emulsion too.
I'm used to them holding these nutes longer then getting a leeching when I get a lock out of some sort. Thanks for the encouragement. We need someone planning Offense, since I seem to be on defense, or just keeping up.

The couple that own the place are customers of my wife's business so I have to be careful when talking about "Tomato's" in December! lol He swears by it also, especialy for containers. I was thinking of using pumice this time around instead of perlite? A little heavier and don't float up either. Cowboy has looked at the cert papers and warned the fert charge might be a little hot with an EC of 2. Was thinking of maybe cutting it down a little but not sure what to use?

water flush the piss out of like a rain...should make it suitable wouldn't ya think? Then just let it drain...you dont have an ec or ppm meter? that way you could know for sure?

Ya, another one of those wish-list things.LOL I have enough of my mix for my femmed seedlings so will use it for them and put the P/R's in the Fertilome to see how they handle it straight.

So its week six for the PR's and we are moving along nicely. The bagseed are at week 3 and 1 week under the HPS. Coming along nicely and starting to form some trich's. P/R's got fed and watered with 3ml of the Foliage Pro and PH'd to 6.5.

The seedling are doing OK! The Big Band, White Dom, and 2 of the PR's popped and are under the light. Had to put the WD back in the dome. She didn't like the cfl's to much so soon.

Ok guys, sorry for the delay. You all now what too do. You have the knowledge, your just a bit timid in your execution. Everybody's garden has its own differences so you cannot duplicate what someone else does. Rather incorporate the basic techniques you have learned tweaking each until it works in your garden.
I know everybody loves R/O water, but guess what Not the best choice for container plants. Just too stripped. Nothing for beneficial to attach too. No trace elements plants can need. Nothing to help buffer the Ph. The list is almost endless. As Riddle has said, tap water is just fine in most cases for growing. Now 350 is pretty hard, actually anything over 200 is going to need a bit of special treatment. Even rainwater is pretty benign. I myself collect rainwater and mix 50/50 with my well water.(you can do the same with RO) Its 250+ppm and about 8.5 Ph(well) I shoot for about 125ppm give or take. But my well water alone grows just fine. I just have been mindful of the mediums Ph. The mineral content has a habit of slowly raising the mediums Ph. And you folks near some of those nice mountain rivers. I would be trying that water also. And its free!!!!!! Remember if you use R/O water for every gallon you get from the tap another gallon is rejected and just flushed down the drain. R/O water IMO is pretty wasteful, has no buffers or anything to offer a plant.
Lots of worm castings in your mix can save you lots of worries. They have the great ability of raising or lower Ph depending on the needs keeping it near neutral. Maybe this explains why Mother Nature never worries about phing rain, she got worms covering her ass! Also dolomite lime. These 2 items alone when incorporated into your medium will nearly eliminated about any ph problems.
And Big the only way to know for sure how hot your new medium is. Pop a seedling in it and grow. Then you will have a much better grasp on how it feeds and if you need to cut it or not. That way you are 'correcting' and not just 'guessing' And Lumi, Dan and the rest. Dont be scared to burn a plant a bit. Stop being armchair QBs, get in the game and start airing it out fromm time to time. You will each need to find the combination that play together well from your lineup..

Just go to Home Depot and get a bale of peat moss to blend with. Pumice is a great to help lighten medium. Adds trace minerals and retains a nice ratio of air/water. A good choice even if just used as a mineral amendment. If you have access then I would def add it to the lineup for use and experimentation. I have a friend that grows Orchids in a 50/50 pumice/coco mix. Most beautiful you have ever seen. For now I would mix what you have left with some of the new. Start the change over.

EDIT: Speaking of Orchids. Any of you ever grown them? If not you should grow a few. You will learn more about reading your plants and watering habits than you can imagine. MJ is easy to grow. Make some Orchids thrive and bloom. Once you do your pots plants will be like second nature. More like tending the Boston Fern on the porch in the summer. And how much do you really worry about it? Not much I imagine. Should be the same way in the flower room.

Orchids are beautiful. I saw a 'mini' farm run by a retired gardener in Costa Rica. That ladies skills with those & breeding them was flat out impressive. I still think of her when I see Orchid mentioned. If only she was breeding Cannabis. They're hard to grow right? High humidity if I remember too.

It's getting close to a feeding for these 5. I will go to 100% Jack's next. Adding a 1/2 tsp. Fish emulsion also unless CL thinks that would be over doing it. I'm going feed, then 'rain' + nute, then feed. I'll get these hogs plumped up yet.
