More THC at harvest?????

I read somewhere on here(cannot find it now) that you can give the plants 48 hours of complete dark 2 days before you harvest them and that they think winter is here and their dying and will extract more thc into the buds before they die. Can anyone shine some insight on this from experience.

I tried lol BB Skunk blunted and search wasn't turning up anything that resembled the thread I was looking for.

Right doesn't cost anything. What did you notice from 3 days of dark? Anything?

My area flooded one time and I had to remove the plants from the area until I got it pumped out and cleaned. I left them in a closet for 3 days in complete darkness but wasn't near end so i stuck them back in 12/12 I didn't notice anything but read(years ago) if I had to I could put them in the dark for 3-5 days for whatever reason and they would be okay.

I just want to know if I could benefit on final product from doing so at the end of harvest. I know it will have me 48-36 hrs of electric, which helps too

It's hard to say how much if any that it made a difference. Was awesome smoke, best batch yet. Lots of variables. All I can say is it sure didn't hurt anything.

I see no difference why it would matter. Looking at it from the plant's point of view - what does it gain from producing more THC right before dying? I think it's best to follow the 12/12 cycle and closely monitor trich development and harvest at the right point. I doubt you can improve on that with gimmicks.

Alright sounds good to me. Yeah i use a hand held microscope for determining when I want to harvest. Just something I read on here(about the darkness making plants extract all thc thinking their dying)I'll just stick with that and do my normal routine.
