lol i couldnt stop looking ant Nacy pelosi and all those childish faces she was making, then when he talked about popular stuff and everyone was cheering she would make like this innocent puppy eyes face with a cute smile, lol i couldnt even concentrate on the speach with all her weird actions.
I thought the speach was a little slow, i like how President Bush said that the Iraqi al qeuda leader said "we will not rest untill we are attacking them in thier homeland"
and then Bush was like "well were not gonna rest either"
thought that was funny
then he said "for anyone that would like to pay more taxes, the IRS accepts checks and money orders"
then the whopper to Iran:
"We will protect our vital interests in the persian gulf"
this statment could not have been more clear to anyone who doubts we will not act against the forces of oppresion that Iran binds its people with and exports to control lebanon and Iraq and kill thier democratically elected leaders who want freedom for thier people.
u cant be free while living next door to a crowd of slaves. You will become a slave too eventually if you do not act to free the others.

i like how everyone cheered and clapped and laughed when he said the IRS was accepting checks. i found NO humor in that.

What I found interesting was the coverage by the various networks. Fox was really stoked about the speech and CNN was really negative ... even smart-ass like. So, as it is here in the political forum, one's perspective of the speech depends upon one's political leanings. There's no doubt that the Left's hatered of Bush blinds them to anything positive the man may have to say, and there's no doubt that the Right is blind to the negatives the man displays.

Trust me, I hate Bush just as much as the next guy [or girl]
I think he is a complete ignorant turd.
But the SOUA last night was his attempt to get his approval ratings up before he leaves office. Obviously the tax breaks were a bit 'too little too late' for our struggling economy.. but these tax cuts are actually designed for lower income families instead of the wealthy. This is one of the things that I praise Bush for.
Also Bush recently vetoed SCHIP expansion.
If you don't know what this means and you smoke cigarettes, than you need to really need to get with it. Since bush vetoed SCHIP expansion smokers DID NOT see a tax increase! Congress has been trying to override this veto, but so far they have failed.
This is just one more reason that I like the fact that Bush is attempting to get his approval ratings up with the lower to middle class citizens.
Although Bush talked about some hopeful things he did talk extensively about the war on terror. Bush and I, well we won't ever get along in this area ::sigh::
Anyway, if you guys are interested in reading the speech instead of watching it...
