Seriously, Would you pay $4.20 a month to play a Cannabis Themed MMO?

Would you pay $4.20 for this Virutal Stoner World?

I had to delete and restart this post while typing it about five times because I keep rambling on, so this one I'm going to get straight to the point.

I'm a nerd that is just competent enough to create a 3D Marijuana World for Stoners, were you could do a shit load of random things while chilling with other stoners in a 3D world (though shitty 3D nothing dazzling... meaning it can run on more PC's though).
I would invest what it takes to get the software and basic art needed to make a semi-cool looking game but when it comes to running a fast server for an online game like this it takes some real cash so I really don't think I could have it free so I would have to charge something little like $4.20 a month to help cover costs.

I could make a world with similar visual quality as these 2 examples:
- Video -
- Picture -

Knowing all that would you pay to be able to log onto a game that is nothing of the quality of second life or WoW but has some charm to it. You would mainly be able to chat and do little mini-games at first and than i would be able to expand it very quickly given enough interest in the game, I would be able to do more or less what players wanted to do, maybe add a zombie survival you can play with other people, or pvp, or use vehicles or even make the game into an actual mmorpg (quest's and dungeons related to weed). Really I can think of some really cool things I could add into the world within days, I just really want to know if I have support from the true community... you guys, does this sound like something cool or something lame?

To be honest I wouldn't pay anything to do anything online.

if it were free I might check it out

sounds like a good idea but if its online it should be free.Sorry but i rather find 1 thats free instead of paying a dollar a month.1 of the reasons i did not purchase an elite membership for this site

Why dont you go to school to learn how to make games and get even farther?
You'll get paid more then $4 dollers per person.

I don't think you could make a profitable business like that alone. because i dont think you could build the depth expected in games like wow. I would gamble that a multimillion dollar company would have more resources to develop deep gameplay and storytelling than you for $4.20 a month. Wheras you would need to be profitable in the first 5 years in order to justify your time and personal spending they wouldn't have to for their long term business plan and resources. Not saying it cant be done, but the odds are against anyone doing it.

He's right! given the odds and resources your more likely to turn a profit makign a major motion picture with your own video camera then you would to turn a profit on an actual videogame today.

However if you got the skills you could make a killing making a big company a videogame if you get the education and show your background to companies.

Exactly, making a cute little pot head game is nice and fun.
But people need to look into their future.
But who knows! This game might be the future? Never know.
& Never stop following your dreams guys!

You could get advertisers to pay you, kinda like this site does. youd just need a big community to spark companys intrests.

ad block lol.

and no I wouldn't have any interest in it at all.

tbh it sounds lame.
I'd much rather invite friends over to smoke and play madden or call of duty.

Thanks for the honest input guys, its what I was hoping for!
I don't wanna kill your plans dude ... But from experience ...I can't see it working out for you , But that don't mean you can't try it :)

If you want to make money and create an MMO type thing ... Try Second Life .. Its free ... easy to use , The 3D Building tool has very little limit ( Just your imagination ) , People create MMO's within the 3d world and others pay to use it , You could allso create related products to sell ... Second life is in a state of flux right now ... so this could be a good time to corner a market .

This video shows a lame attempt at a headshop ... But if your good with 3D modeling and can code scripts ... you could do a lot better ... btw .. this shit sells ... People buy it for REAL cash .

I was a content creator for a well known company within second life ... Did Jobs for Sony BMG , Warner Bros , IBM Even created virtul games for the TV show CSI that was used for two of the shows .

The platform is already there ... just take your idea and use it to build the your MMO and test it out ... Lots of roll players in SL would prolly like it :)

Good luck man :)

What happens? They outperform America and end up with a higher standard of living? So how many languages do you speak dip-shit?
japan sucks a gang of dicks... I speak two languages the one that matters and whatever your mother speaks.. to be honest I'm not to fluent, so far I only can say "the back door" and "five dollars" but it has proven to be quite successful.

why don't you go "through" yourself off of a cliff now?
