I have just started to foliar feed. I think it is really good. What do you guys have experince with it. Is it better to spray in veg vs flower and what is good to spray with. I have been using nitrozyme and half r.o. water and half nutrient. Last question how ofter can you spray or foliar feed them.
Thanks for all the help

Im in tent with 4 1000w and doing hydro

I spray every 3rd day, from veg up until 3-4 weeks into flower. It helps to have a quality spray bottle that will produce a finer spray. You could also use a wetting agent which will help the water spread out evenly on the leaf for better absorption. If you are on a budget you can simply use a tiny bit of dish soap. You can buy commercial wetting agents like wet betty.

I personally recommend that you foliar feed with liquid light from dutch master, combined with Saturator, which is their delivery agent. Saturator actually bonds with the nutrients and delivers them directly inside the leaf. Liquid light will not only feed the plant but increase it's ability to utilize light. You will see results in just a few hours.

I foliar feed as well, usually from about week 2 to about week 6 - 7. Early on, I like to use SuperThrive and some Cal-Mag. (distilled water man) I also add some food grade Hydrogen Peroxide...

I've tried a lot of different ferts for foliar feeding and found that Shultz plant food plus liquid plant food to be excellent for this application. It works as well as the expensive stuff.

Once you spray them with water every now and then. Otherwise nutrients will start to gather on the leaves. Also start out with a lite mix of nutes and water to avoid any nutrient burn. I would also avoid spraying buds close to harvest as it may cause mould and will delay drying time. Happy growing :)

I make the bitches work for their food. They have to lift it through the roots themselves, none of this pansy direct feeding stuff.

I don't know anything about hydro so take this for what it is worth to you. I think foliar feeding is great with immediate results which are visiable. There are many solutions, mixes which you can use for various reasons. Using fish emulsion is great and gives the plants a special glow about them, also helps prevent mold and mildew because of the oils. Molasses can help give a boost and is readily absorbed applied in this manner. You must be careful and not exceed dosages (1 teaspoon per liter of water) which can cause excessive budsites and reduce the overall size of the buds. Compost teas are also used with great success.
You will need to look through your other nutes and see anything which might be lacking in their diet. Even when your plants are properly feed at least in soil a little foliar feeding makes a noticeable difference in over all appearance. I woun't reccommend this after the midway point in flower. Due to concerns of mold.
Happy Growing and Merry Christmas

I find that a feed is usefull in the earlier stages of veg to help "jump start" & "stabilize" things. 1-2 weeks tops.
But other than that
I make the bitches work for their food.

what are the advantages of foliar feeding?
The thought is that it delivers food almost instantly into the plants system.

It is said to enhance growth and vigor.

But you have to be careful because you can burn your plants in the process.

I see lil czr....hmmm...guess i'll give it a try...although everything looks good...
bro if it looks good leav it. might just turn erthang bad.

I use a very light organic "mist" early morning (start photoperiod). Bat guano, sugar, bone meal (or blood meal wicheva has the N) and kelp/seaweed stuff. I call this my starter nutes. Works well in seedling stage. If used correctly.

I would say that unless you are an accomplished grower and sure that you have every other aspect of your grow dialed in, stay clear of folar feeding, just too many potential problems for your potential returns.
First a few questions... Indoor or outdoor? Soil or hydro? Outdoor in soil, go for it. I recommend only ferts designed for foliage, and only in the early mornings or just before sunrise to eliminate potential burn. More is not better I suggest going even weaker than suggested. Also beware of bonding agents as the may clog the stomata, how the plant respirates.
Indoor with hid's, and hydroponic grows. I suggest skipping folar feeding as potential problems far outweigh any potential benefits. The fact that ff recks mylar, will cause bulbs to explode, will dirty vented hoods , decrease all reflective material, potentially clog stomata reducing co2 and general respiration, and increase the likelihood of mold or mildew problems.
As for hydroponic systems... If you are doing everything correctly your plant already has everything it needs all the time, so why ff?

PEACE
