Orchids are beautiful. I saw a 'mini' farm run by a retired gardener in Costa Rica. That ladies skills with those & breeding them was flat out impressive. I still think of her when I see Orchid mentioned. If only she was breeding Cannabis. They're hard to grow right? High humidity if I remember too.

It's getting close to a feeding for these 5. I will go to 100% Jack's next. Adding a 1/2 tsp. Fish emulsion also unless CL thinks that would be over doing it. I'm going feed, then 'rain' + nute, then feed. I'll get these hogs plumped up yet.

They look pretty happy in the pics. But you see much more in person. I can tell ya this. I would take 1 or 2 of them and do something a bit different from the others. You need to play around with new techniques to see what works best in your garden. A good plan is to choose a couple of strains and stick with them for a number of grows. Try different things and compare side by side. Sure you will fuck up a few plants along the way. But you will learn as much or more from your failures than you learned from growing the bud your puffing while reading this! Thats how you 'Tune' your garden. Your plants and enviroment are constantly speaking. Just gotta learn too listen.........Thats something that you have too teach yourself.......

But just feed them what they need. You can overdose a plant and not ever see any obvious signs of burn. Just subtle changes in growth. P being the main culprit in container growing. Outdoors it leaches very fast from the soil(mineral based)while indoors(container/peat based mixes)it leaches much, much slower. And you can feed a plant too much N without seeing burn or clawing and still be stressing the plant and actually slowing growth. You all will find the comfort zone for each of your gardens. Just keep growing......

Beings I am not actively growing in this journal at the time. I thought I would try this out to stay more active here. If its liked I will continue. Hope you all enjoy.....

THE EASIEST WAY TO INCREASE YIELD:

Rotate your pots 1/4 turn each day during the entire grow. Its free and gives visible and measurable results. So if you dont already I suggest you give it a try......:peace:

i am not actively growing in this journal either, but I like you as an advice columnist just as much

i rotate mine, but its all kinds of random. they may get rotated once a day, maybe 10 times a day, depends on what I am doing with them that day. maybe should try some more consistency!

So I bought some new peat pellets and I think they have caused me grief. None of my seedling that popped have been very vigorous and the White Domina popped it's tap root and had to be turned around. She is doing OK but surely stunted. They just don't seem to be very vigorous so I went ahead and started 6 more beans to test out the new mix and they are a Isis from my last grow and a Kannabia Special Skunk in my old mix, 1 P/R from RMH and 1 from Cowboy in a 50/50 old and new mix, and 2 random seeds from my last grow in a straight new mix.

Wrapped the cab in black plastic poly I had left from a job I did. Got rid of all the light leaks going on for no cost. Used dryer hos to duct the 137cfm exhaust fan to the room. Using it for "pseudo" heater and it has raised the temp 2 degree's in the room.

Pretty healthy looking group. I wouldnt sweat the slow start on the White Domina. Seems like the Special I started is falling behind. Sometimes slow to start only to finish with a bang. And cant wait to see how the new mix works out. And TOTD tomorrow just happens to be about fish pooh..........

Some movement is better than none at all. This time of year having lots of free time I rotate mine when the lights come on then again halfway through the light cycle. It really makes a noticable difference.

Thanks Riddle. I will try to keep them coming. Barring writers(stoners)block that is!

Most of know well Fish Emulsion quickly fills the gap when experiencing a N deficiency. But I am going to talk about a different use.
Feeding your motherplants. Its perfect! Plenty of N to promote shoot growth and branching along with just enough P and K to support a healthy plant. But not to much to stimulate alot of root growth. Not much worry of build up in the medium. And if so very easily flushed from the medium. Salt buildup can be an issue for plants in the same container for long periods(over 3 months)fish emulsion almost eliminates this. One bottle does it all, pretty much that is!. It really is near perfect for just maintaining a healthy parent plant to take your cuttings from...:peace:

Hey bigman, you should try to find some earthworm castings to mix in before you start using some new soil. Based off some of the things I have read from CL, that combined with the Fish Emulsions should compliment each other, and your grow, rather nicely!

Thanks for the advice CL

True Dat, Cowboy, I know I forget the little things. I rotate my plants some, but I needed the reminder, then the sound reason for it. I'll get consistent with that.

I've used the F.E. alot especially for non-Cannabis outdoors. Huge fan of it. I neglected using it when I went to Jack's and Pro-teKt. My Royal Kush got what it needed at a full indoor dose. I'll switch to it for Mum's from now on, that is as logical as it can get.

I decided I'm starting 12/12 on the first 4 tonight. I have to measure them up and re-arrange today so I'll get pics then. Up-canning was a week ago. I figure they'll be ready for the first 'Rain' in these pots in a couple day's. Last time they got a dose of Jack's & F.E. w/ Molasses to end the 'rain'. I was going to either do that increasing the Jack's or substitute the F.E. with the Morbloom 0-10-10.
Would that extra P-K as flowering is just beginning be better now or should I wait for that extra P-K shot after they show sex? The next full dose of nutes is the Pro-teKt added too to consider. Adding some organics on top of this 2-2-2 ratio seems like it's working for this strain. Thanks again for the help. Worm Poop should be a good one.

I think I would stay with the Jacks or the F.E for the first two weeks. They are going to need that N cause they are going to blow up. Just me though. Looking great brother.

Day late tip....

Hope you all have your jewelers loupe and keep it at hand anytime you are working in the garden. Often we only have a second or two to identify a pest or its larva. No time to find you loupe of magnifying glass missing the opportunity for early identification. Could be the difference between nipping it in the bud or dealing with the beginnings of an infestation. Merry Xmas all........

So my Christmas was awesome and I hope so was everyone else's. Got a new piece from the Daughter and future son-in-law. Nice piece of glass and had to put it to good use yesterday. The best gift was just being around family so that was good enough for me. Although the new slippers and pajama bottoms are sweeeet!

So in order to have something to put into the new piece I had to chop the smaller of the two P/R's. She was at day 48 but still is a good stoney high for being so young and quick dried. Was going to buy some "good cron" from my old dude but had a sample and wasn't going to pay top dollar for it. My girl turned out to be better than that commercial crap so no loss in the early chop.

I up-canned the first seedling to a quart pot and buried them as low as I could. They are in a 50/50 mix of old and new so they should start to take off now. The Red Diesel never popped and I couldn't even find the seed when I tore the pellet apart. The W/D finally kicked the bucket to. She never did recover from flipping her around.

The latest ones are doing well also. The Skunk Special, both P/R's and one of the random seeds popped so far and the last random and Isis should be up soon.

Got some pics for ya.

Sucks about the WD. Not that surprised about the Diesel. It really is a hit and miss.

Why are those seedlings so far from the light? Looks like a foot or better...... Reveg looks great!

edit: by flip flop I assume you mean your medium change. Did you do a 50/50 mix of old and new to help buffer?
