I used to play that game pretty intensely....
When XFIRE had promos going, where you would get into servers with 'professional' gaming clans, I'd school the fuck out of them... wed get on TeamSpeak or Ventrillo with them and hop around on pub servers
I remember the highlight of my gaming career... Strike at Karkand playing like clan 'TF|' or some shit like that, they had won some competetions, anyway they were capping the first base, 3 of them... and I jumped from a building, flashed them, threw a nade to make them scatter, then jumped in and stabbed 3 of them with the knife while they all wildly fired.. i ended up capping the base by myself and holding two more off... all you heard on teamspeak was, "FLASH FLASH, COMING THROUGH THE STAIRS, NO SHIT WAIT OTHER SIDE OTHER SIDE FUCK GET HIM.... *firing* get him!..............*base being captured* WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT HOLY SHIT"
In Battlefield 2142, I started that game on launch with my BF2 clan.. i was a cofounder with a squad with like 25 active, and about 35 inactive... we had our own teamspeak and a few servers.. anyway, I was top 100 at knife kills for a while... then into the top 1,000-2,000 when I slowed down on the knife kills... by the end of my 'career' I had like 4,000 unique dog tags LOL and averaged like 10 knife kills a game

It's not Battlefield 2.
I used to fly with a guy in that game, he had like 400 hours the chopper. How RIDICULOUS is that. That was when I was in like a 75 active member clan. He said that he flew officially as a chopper gunner in Korea, and flew the helicopter occasionally. I think it was a blackhawk?
Anyway this dude would get drunk, rant, and play with us...fly around, get scores like 90-0... on a joystick... and he would complain that the muzzle velocity of an M82A1 anti material rifle with AP rounds from the distance of 1000 yards should penetrate the steel on the Armored Personnel Carriers, and that they should "punch a hole in the side, and cause hot copper to fly around making a huge mess inside"
hahaha man I miss the characters in those games. BF2 was one of the best games I've ever played, 2142 is second, that game was SO WELL balanced and designed!

Right on, I started off by playing BF:Vietnam, then BF2, then BF2142, and now I would really like to get BFBC2. I have a demo of it and played the campaign and want to play the multi bad. I still fire up BF2142 here and there but it's down to about 30 servers live at a time is all.

BF2 is also one of my fav war infantry games to date, although i will freely admit that the weapon engine or whatnot in BF2 was the biggest load of bullshit i've yet encountered, god knows what they were thinking.

hitboxes was one of the issues, but i'm also talking about the power, animations, sounds, graphics, it was all crap. Now modern warfare etc, those games have good weapon physics! Just shit gameplay

graphics were pretty good, i ran everything on high.
Did you ever play 2142? It was like everything you ever wanted BF2 to be. An amazing game for the first few years it was out. Still one of the best games I've ever played

Are you having a laugh, 2142 was one of the biggest jokes to be released by EA, it's like people trying to convince me that left 4 dead 2 is a good purchase, lol. What a ripoff.
And graphics settings had no relevance to the weapon physics, they were crap by design, the gun animations and muzzle flashes ere just laughable.

What was wrong with 2142?
Interesting gameplay modes, cool maps, cool vehicles... MULTIPLE roles to be played (repairing titan guns, protecting titan, capping silos, capping bases, picking people off)
Also 2142 was extremely TEAM orriented, to win you HAD to work together and join a squad
There were too many benefits to being on a squad to NOT be in one... what with spawning on Squad Leader, squad leader weapon drones
Also there were sooo many attachments and shit to get to customize your weapon
also BF2142 had camera shake... on BF2 its like you floated everywhere but on 2142 you could almost feel your feet hitting the ground
also dolphin diving and other bs was NEVER a problem on 2142

Cool man! I'm honored for the +rep thanks. Vietnam is similar to your 2142 in that it feels so real, the guns feel heavy, the shots feel real, and most importantly when you shoot an opposing player you can feel the bullet penetrate them. Highly recommend playing this while smoking a strong saliva.
