I am glad NY said you have to be 21 ONLY because that saves you the HUGE mistake of being a "registered" fire arm owner. Try to buy privately it will be worth the wait. In the meantime, while you're looking for the right seller and the right gun you can sell that ammo--even if it is old. I like finding the pawn shops around here with the best gun selections, owners there tend to be helpful when it comes to networking and many end up being ex-cops who can help you find loopholes.

As for how good the ammo is...alot of it was old and I do have those put aside to dipose (not sure how yet)....but 80% of it are still brand new in unopen boxes to the point you can see your reflection on it. No mold, or anything like . ALOT of hollowtips. A little wary on those because I know there super illegal which makes me believe this belonged too a cop. (cause cops can get em evne though there really not suppose too)

Im not sure if AK's are still illegal or not. I know in like '02 they banned them and me and everyone else was buying them before the ban went in effect. Seems like I remember hearing they lifted the ban though. Not real sure. Ammo will go way up in price when Obama passes the law where every single bullet has to have its own serial number, which is retarted IMO.

Nah AKs arent illegal in NY or NJ it's the hollow tips I'm talking about. I have a friend who got in SERIOUS trouble because he had an AR15 with hollows in it. (the AR was legal). But anyone with even novice gun knoledge wil ltell ya how incredibly destructive hollows are.

I'm pretty gun savy. I am very confident with the ammo I set aside. The one's that made me nervous was the ones with rust and discolored, so I got those ones in a bag to dispose properly (unlike the gernade)
