Anything in the soil will add to the plethora of tastes. Thats why most growers literly flood the shit out of their soil at the end of flowering with pure water. Although you might think it is nasty, its not going register as offensive because your brain didnt evolve in the civial world. So dont even worry about it imo.

I just like to question everything and was trying to ask if anyone has found something that works well to add to weeds plethora.

I assumed people liked the taste of weed heh. I dunno maybe add some of that stanky spice crap that's flavored if you seriously need to change the taste. Then again if you had weed that tasted really bad I'd just make hash out of it or not schmoke it at all. ::shrug::

salad bowls.. multiple strains in one bowl. thats the best flav
I like mixing a few kinds to get a good blend too. Salad bowls! Toss that shit and serve it! =)

In the late 60's and part of the way through the 70's there was a product called Dinky Dew. It came in various concentrated flavors, menthol included, and a drop or two on a bud or a joint would give a strong flavor. People grew tired of it and it went out of business. I am sure other businesses have tried the same or similar things but in the end people mostly enjoy the natural flavor of a high quality strain that has been well flushed and then properly dried and properly cured.

Please don't do this.
I agree. Don't ADD anything, just go for strains that are well-known to be delicious. The tastiest buds I've had include Shishkaberry, Grapefruit Haze, S.A.G.E., Trainwreck, and Purple Goo (Afghooey X Purple Urkel). If odor isn't a concern, don't use low-odor strains. Smellier buds tend to pack a more intense taste.

yea. You could harvest all but one branch with a few nugs on it and try it. All it needs is one extra hour to soak it up. Then U can say you did it at least.

go to your local head shop ask for some shit called tastey puff you add a drop to your weed alredy dried let it dry and poof tastey puffs all kind of differt flavors and smells and you dont kill the plant problem solved
Tastypuff is an awful substance. I was sent some free samples. It makes your smoke way harsh, it makes your stash smell like a strawberry shortcake doll but just tastes like crud and in my case caused my throat to swell. I wouldn't even suggest putting it on schwag.

Why stop at artificial flavors, why not throw in some artificial coloring, some food dye, or maybe some artificial preservatives too so it remains fresh and potent longer?

I have gotten high for 43 years and grown for almost 39 years and every now and then someone thinks that if they add some flavor to their curing, or in some cases growing, herb that it will taste better and that they will like it better and that other people will like it better.

If it worked well and if it were what people wanted an entire industry would have been created, there would be a large number of businesses by now that sold products for flavoring your weed.

What people want most from the herb they toke is to get high or to get stoned or some combination of the two. If a grower wants herb with a unique or different taste, then they should pick a strain or strains that will naturally give them a unique or different taste.

It's myth and old hippie folklore. It said you may need to use gallons of orange juice. Do you have any idea of how difficult it would be to control your pH level and not kill your plants if you poured something as acidic as orange juice on them, or the strawberry concentrate that was mentioned?

In my nearly four decades of growing I have never known of anything like that, that works well, works consistently and will not cause plants to have problems, and I have seen the let's try to flavor our weed' craze or fad come and go a number of times over the decades.

If adding things to soil to give plants flavor works why is it that people who grow organically and their fertilizer, that they feed to their plants many times during the period of time it takes to grow a crop, may contain steer manure or bat guano or kelp not end up with herb that tastes like cow shit or bat shit or kelp?

If you want good tasting pot or unique smelling pot, then grow strains that have been bred to create/have their own good tastes and unique odors.
Yo we should throw a big mac in the res for flavor AND as a preservative! They have big macs from 1989 in a museum! So many chems nothing will eat them!

I was talking about adding a few ppm of artificial flavor to the water an hour before harvest. Not tossing a big mac in there.

I think a few hundred 400 ppms of Cheese Cake flavor would be interesting.

How much does anyone really believe you can flavor your pot by adding things to the soil? Very many growers use molasses as a supplement, and some of they do not wait until just the last two or three weeks and will use it all through flower, but their herb does not end up tasting like molasses, does it?

Plants take up nutrients as ions. Ions are electrically charged forms of each nutrient or element. Some are cations (positively charged) and others are anions (negatively charged). For example, the three major plant nutrients nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) are taken up by plant roots as follows.

• N is absorbed as ammonium (NH4+, a cation) or nitrate (NO3–, an anion).
• P is absorbed either as H2PO4– or HPO42–, both anions.
• K is absorbed as K+, a cation.

Does anyone believe that what could be added to soil or into a hydro tank mix, especially; "and hour before harvest" would break down and transform into a chemical substance plants could and would then take in? Even if it did a plant will not take in every substance in soil or hydro so the original flavor that would be added would have to break down and then all be taken in and then all added back together within the plant in the same amounts of each chemical to then have the same flavor as was originally added.

People were trying to add things to flavor their plants well before I started growing in 1972 and I have never yet heard of anything that worked as hoped for or believed it would. If plants could be flavored to different tastes, or odors changed, by simply adding some substance companies like Fox Farms and others would have been offering them for sale for ages now.

Why do you think it is that an entire new industry hasn't long since been created that offers growers a wide assortment of flavor additives and color and odor additives well before now since people were trying what is being asked here back in the 60's and likely well before that?

Rather than pay out the arse for high priced carbo loads and sweeteners, I use Sucanat which is granualized Sugar Cane Juice... reconstitute it and use similare to other carbo load products.... a few grows ago I went nuts with the molasses at the finish and you could taste it in the smoke.... very mellow and smooth

I wrote a thread about flavour curing about 6-7 months ago.I do it all the time.Citrus works well as it releases it oils when you bake the peel in the oven.People seem to think you shouldnt mess with the flavour of mj,and when you have some stinking shit i couldnt agree more,but....Ive grown strains that just beg for a bit of fruitiness, super haze from CH9 for eg.Flavour curing is in no way ment to change the flavour of your green,,just inhance what flavour is already there.
When I cure I will take some essinetal oils pepperment, I put a few drop on the inside rim of the Jar I'm curing in and it takes on the pepperment flavor. It OK for a change but I do the the smell fresh harvested BUD
